Serial child abuser - 12 yrs prison sentence

This story is awful & infuriating. One of his victims has spoken out - she reported him in 1997 when she was 10 yrs old, having been raped & abused by him from the age of 7. He threatened to kill her mum if she ever told anyone. He'd been discharged from the army for getting a 14yr old pregnant but that information was never disclosed when the police investigated the allegations against him in 1997. He was never charged & his victim was removed from her family & placed in care, left feeling punished for speaking out.

He's been convicted of abusing 6 girls, 2 of them wouldn't have been abused if he'd been convicted of the earlier abuse & rape.

I know the cases are different but the disparity between this abuser's sentence & Challenor's sentence seems too much - this bastard is eligible for parole in just 6 years.

I think David Scott should be in jail for at least his full sentence, preferably longer, and I hope his other victims feel able to come forward.

Laura Lunn - you are a brave, courageous woman & my heart goes out to that amazingly brave 10 yr old girl you were back then. How awful that you were so badly let down by so many.

Thank you for sharing. This man should never be in public spaces again.

It takes courage to speak out. Courage calls to courage everywhere.

Laura. I salute you.

I agree, brave, brave woman. Well done
But sentencing is a joke!
