FairPlay for women website

There's a local group on Facebook discussing how the Labour Party stands on GRA and women's rights. One person has linked to the Fairplayforwomen.com site and their interpretation and explanation of how the Equality Act protects women and single spaces. Another has said the site does not support trans rights. Surely as a women's rights site it's focus is rightly on women??
I haven't had time to have a good look but they seem to be saying that the Act is being misinterpreted by trans people. Is this the case? Is the Act being misinterpreted to benefit the trans community?

There are different legal opinions about this. Barrister Julian Norman wrote this:

Of course it does - it just is only concerned with the sex based rights, not the gender re-assignment rights.

It's fine for single focus campaigns - womens' rights, trans rights - that's not what inclusive means.

That’s right. One problem Inhave with modern concepts of Feminism is that it is supposed to include everyone. I keep reading ‘if your feminism isn’t intersectional then it’s rubbish’ but it’s a misrepresentation of what intersectionality means.

What it doesn’t mean is that women have a duty to centre and sort out the problems of every oppressed or discriminated against group.

Feminism is for women. It’s fine to have a single issue campaign, focusing on a bad law that will cause huge problems for women and girls.

That doesn’t mean that Fair Play for Women don’t support the trans community, or are ‘anti-trans’.

They are categorically not. They are pro women and girls.
