Cannot believe that this would EVER have seemed to be a good idea for an "inspiration quote" on a school wall! Hace looked in case has already been posted previously but couldn't see- thankfully it's to be taken down! mobile.twitter.com/TweetsABitNow/status/1030567120864727042/photo/1

It also misses the point by a mile. A true gentleman, in the best sense of that word, would remain a gentleman no matter what.

shakeyourcaboose · 07/09/2018 20:39

Exactly Lass! It just gives credence to the 'you made me do that' rhetoric!

I hardly ever agree with Lass but this is spot on Grin

Although I was reading something today almost along those lines, how women tend to prefer emn who act chivourously ( sp???). ( like hold doors) And how women often played into that . The rathionale being that because women were weaker it was beneficial for them to engender such feelings in the man. And men were more likely to get the next date if they acted that way, for example paying for the dinner. Thus saying ( to our biological unconscious) that he will look after you me and any babies.

Movablefeast · 07/09/2018 20:51

It made headlines because parents were outraged and it was immediately removed, so I wouldn’t suggest this is a general opinion of any community in the USA.

I hardly ever agree with Lass either - although she always make me stop and think. But yes as others say, I totally agree with her on this!

shakeyourcaboose · 07/09/2018 21:07

I don't think it is general opinion if US at all, and no-ones suggested that, thankfully they have removed it, but the fact it was even put up in the first place!
