AIBU to miss duck face?

I miss it.

I'm bored of the non binary side smile.

Why do teenagers do this? Even see transmen do it, and I mean it's just a spectacular fail as I've never seen a human male do it in the history of my being alive.

It just looks like a smuggy mcsmugface tbh

FanWithoutAGuard · 07/09/2018 15:27

I don't think they did have a different name.. now you're making me question myself!

I used to get the job of sticking a cocktail stick in each one (I wasn't trusted to do that to the cheese cubes, you needed a more delicate hand for that)

Anlaf · 07/09/2018 15:40

The glamour Fan!

I just spent another very depressing 5 minutes scrolling through some of the #nonbinary insta posts in that link above.

Young female kids (altho these >18) with masectomy scars on show and their new family of enbies and trans friends around them.

It's properly alarming. I can't believe the surgeons doing this. (I can, but)

FanWithoutAGuard · 07/09/2018 15:48

I used to think that I'd get some nips and tucks done at some point - but after 2 c-sections, I just can't picture going in for voluntary surgery - not even to reduce my mahoosive boobs - I just can't face the idea, even though my life would be a lot easier and more comfortable with somethinng more manageable on my chest.

I hope these young women learn to live with themselves - I hope they don't regret what they've done - I hope they can still be proud like a tattooed granny, and not miss the fact that by doing it, they've destroyed any chance they would have had to breast feed kids if they have them for example.

Haworthia · 07/09/2018 15:53

If anyone needed help to imagine cocktail sausage lips, take a look at Lauren Goodger before and after. I’m not taking the piss out of her - I actually think it’s tragic. All these girls wrecking their faces at such a young age.

MrsJayy · 07/09/2018 15:58

Lauren Goodyer just looks like Jodie Marsh I agree it is terrible what they do to their faces

BigFatDork · 07/09/2018 16:04

WTF? she looks like an overinflated waxwork dummy

iklboo · 07/09/2018 16:04

@Haworthia - bloody hell she looks like something out of The Dark Crystal!

AIBU to miss duck face?
PersistenceIsNotFutile · 07/09/2018 16:11

Tragic indeed.

FloralBunting · 07/09/2018 16:15

I prefer my smile without teeth, and it does tend to be more pronounced on the one side, probably because I've picked up the habit of raising my one eyebrow when I smile.
So, I'm not sure if I look non binary side smiley in my photos, but I do look like I've just been asked something mildly risqué or ridiculous.

NeepNeepNeep · 07/09/2018 16:16

I really fancy some chipolatas now.

Mustbebetween · 07/09/2018 16:26

Sorry totally off topic but that link leading to Insta sent me off on a rabbit hole to a 13 yr old “bi trans” from Devon posting all their details and photos on a dating site exclusively for 12-17yos (but open to the world) who are, well any of the bullshit they make up gender non binary blah blah blah. How is that legal???

My 13YO niece is still riding her pony and playing Harry Potter, I’m totally shocked. They are HUGELY open to grooming and abuse and I’m totally just 😱 Have I lived in a box??

NeepNeepNeep · 07/09/2018 16:35

What fresh hell is this? A dating site for 13 year olds!

NeepNeepNeep · 07/09/2018 16:36

*12

Anlaf · 07/09/2018 16:50

There is a lot going on in this thread but I am wondering if it's terribly cisnormative of me to think that removing a teenage girl's breasts is somehow worse than a teenager aspriring (as many did in mai day) to having breast implants to look like Jordan.

The latter is bad because it's young women thinking their only power, only control over how the world sees them, is how sexy and page-3-stunna-like they are.

The former is bad because it's young women thinking they can have womanhood surgically excised, and then the world will treat them like the full humans they truly are (i.e. more like men).

PersistenceIsNotFutile · 07/09/2018 16:51

Both are bad, as they are a direct reaction to misogyny and - I would argue - a form of self harm.

Anlaf · 07/09/2018 17:00

I have much sympathy with these girls (or boys, however they wish to be known). It's bloody awful though.

Anlaf · 07/09/2018 17:03

And now for a change of pace:

WEE WILLIE WINKIES were what cocktail sausages were styled when i was a nipper. Still available:

Ereshkigal · 07/09/2018 17:18

I'm bored of the non binary side smile.

I didn't know what you were going to say when I clicked on the thread but had exactly this thought Grin

MrsJayy · 07/09/2018 17:26

My now 20 somethi ng ate wee willie sausages most of her toddlerhood was all she would eat Blush

SunsetBeetch · 07/09/2018 17:26

Beware of erect peen when browsing the photos in that link...

gendercritter · 07/09/2018 17:28

Isn't LM the queen of the side smile?

StealthPolarBear · 07/09/2018 17:30

Can someone please link to one of these smiles, I can't picture it at all

SunsetBeetch · 07/09/2018 17:30

And the hand under the chin pose

NeepNeepNeep · 07/09/2018 17:38

I used to do this kind of crap in front of the mirror when I was ten. Why are people not outgrowing their narcissism?
