There is no gay equivalent. It is not needed, because nobody is trying to gaslight gay men into vaginas.

We have several gay friends who have stopped using Grindr because they keep getting messages from trans men.

Then I stand corrected.

There isn't the same level of gaslighting and coercion, and they don't feel threatened. Just annoyed.

I think it’s the same as prejudice vs racism. Eg, when people talk about ‘racism against whites’, I don’t see that as racism. Those prejudiced views don’t come with a big scoop of differential power and established social hierarchies. Ditto here. I’m sure no one is taking down gay men for being ‘genital obssessed’, ‘transphobic’ etc. No one is telling them loudly to stand by their trans brothers.

Sorry, I think it's sad sign of the times that those lesbians have had to create a new word for to describe themselves.

They've taken some leaflets and stopped eyerolling when they see me on a Friday. So I think that's a yes.

I feel slightly encouraged by that. The more gay men that happens to, then the more likely they are to become allies, even if only passively.

Will also be interested to see if the effect is big enough to have an impact on Grindr's profits.
