Not sure if this has been asked before and I have looked myself but find some sites hard to navigate re topics etc..but have other sites such as NM had any debates re GRA? Are there voices over there - or have they come to MN?

Came across this yesterday but not checked it out properly yet:

www.reddit.com/r/GenderCritical/

I've never been on NM!

Might have a look.

Canadian website Feminist Current is openly GC. There are "debates" such as they are frequently in the comments and on their Twitter and facebook.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 01/09/2018 11:48

Quick search says not much.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 01/09/2018 11:48

feminist current is great

Come over to the GenderCritical reddit sub Smile

silentcrow · 01/09/2018 12:04

r/gendercritical is pretty decent in terms of moderation, they don't tolerate any nonsense and there are no restrictions on phrasing - I've been lurking there for a while (and there are definitely cross-lurkers on here as they pick up on things we've found out and talked about, especially stickerwoman. Hi Grin). It's nice to see a more international perspective, and the peak trans threads are a thing of...well, horror, really. And there are sister groups for more in-depth discussions and groups such as desisisters. Make sure you get the right group, though, there's another sub with a similar name that really isn't what you're looking for. It is Reddit, though - take that caveat how you will.

You may find local groups on Facebook, there's one in my area (sorry, don't want to out myself beyond "north"!). Mayday4Women has a Facebook group also.

I believe Peach Yoghurt might be putting something together? Sure I've seen her mention it.

Ereshkigal · 01/09/2018 12:13

Yes that other subreddit is strangely named given that we're all cynical about gender as well as critical.

Urban75 is a leftish forum for everything under the sun; a bit blokey but good at joining dots on a whole range of political and social issues. The GRA has been raised several times but the threads rapidly disintegrate with the usual insults being flung at non-believers and lots of 'literal violence' claims. What is interesting / depressing is the extent to which a majority of straight men on the site seem to automatically support the MtF posters and ignore or undermine women. I gave up in the end.

Very telling too. They know they aren't women or they'd be as dismissive as they are of actual women.

However, I bet they wouldn't sleep with one of these "women".

howwillthispanout · 01/09/2018 12:42

Thanks all - will explore those suggestions - and be careful I get the right ones!

One reason I asked about NM is do you think they are deliberately keeping below the parapet and letting MN take the "flack"? I don't buy into the view that people on NM are not interested in this (I think the "huns" attitude by some MN posters (not here) can be a wee bit patronising).

I do wonder if there has been traffic to NM from those on MN who don't want to engage and NM are deliberately distancing themselves from the FWR boards.

Here's a link to a collection of reddit subs that cover women's issues, and will allow discussion of the GRA and similar topics

www.reddit.com/r/GenderCritical/comments/9bmylz/check_out_our_sister_subreddits_and_please_post/

NameChangedAgain18 · 01/09/2018 13:40

Is the Gender Critical Reddit "the other place" that various FWR posters decamped to a while back?

NothingOnTellyAgain · 01/09/2018 13:40

When I searched NM for "gra" and "trans" I only got one hit posted by a mod and no replies.

So not banned and not being talked about I think

Gncq · 01/09/2018 21:30

NM have a habit of banning/deleting any posts that do not capitulate to TWAW if the subject is ever raised. It is not a feminist website.
