Ah, they've got a book out.
I sympathy - all that surgery and back and forth and so on.
OTOH "Going shopping was boring, female conversation dull, hormones made her moody. The sex wasn’t much good. Men didn’t take her seriously as a businesswoman and privately mocked her for not being a ‘real woman’."
???
You dont' have to go shopping
(Apart from you kind of do if you are a professional woman because you can't get away with wearing the same suit day in day out)
Female conversation was dull >> well that's not a massive sexist generalisation
Hormones made her moody and sex was crap >>> yes, and?
Men didn't take her seriously and secretly mocked her for not being a "real woman" >> another yes, and?
It really seems that for a lot of men who transition to women, they are chasing a fantasy of what they think it is like to be female. There is crossover here with the piece linked on the "why are men so angry with women" thread - so many don't see women as real people, not really, and view us in terms of stereotypes, "types" of women. As a group they are quick to dismiss our complaints of all types. But the complaints here - shopping is dull, sex is crap, hormonal changes can make you feel shitty, men don't take you seriosuly and take the piss behind your back - these are all common female experiences.
I think that the fantasy doesn't really match the reality and many men have a skewed idea of what life is like for women.
For individuals though >> if they are happy now then that's good
At a group level - the redefinition of woman / girl to a feeling in a person's head can only mean bad things for women and girls.
