Does anyone subscribe to a news paper and if so which one and why?

Times. Because of Janice Turner initially. Now because of relatively balanced coverage and quality journalism.

None now. I buy Private Eye and The Week.

Occasionally at the weekend I will buy the Times now. I used to read the Guardian

I used to read the guardian but it’s misaligned now

The Times. I find it refreshing and unusual (regrettably) that they give equal status and prominence to women’s voices, based on talent and relevance, not tick boxes, and to differing points of view.

The Times. It's DHs choice, but one I concur with. He has a habit of waking very early and reading the free 'papers' from guardian to mail plus bbc, but I think he's only bothered with subscriptions to the Times and the FT.

Back in the days of physical papers, we used to have the times delivered - if you're going to have just one then it's the most central available and the ST has always been good for investigative journalism.

(And it has the best crosswords and killer sudoku)

I also used to favour the Guardian although I have always tried to read a spread of papers and news sources even with a subscription.

I subscribe to The Guardian then barely read it. It’s coverage of a women’s issues is dire 😡 I need to get out of the paying local newsagent/ receiving vouchers loop. and I like the puzzles Blush Also get Spectator, Economist NS and PI weekly. Wouldn't pay for a Murdoch paper.
Does anyone know what the New York Times International and Feminism coverage and stance is? I could get that cheaply delivered daily and do like to have a paper copy even if most of my news comes online.

Met an amazingly sharp, wonderful 102 year old. Set up one of the first family planning clinics against much local opposition. She reads The Times every day and has done since the 1940's. Says it's not as good now as it was but still keeps her up to date. Smile
