Suzanne Moore on Salmond, women and the reputation of great men

Obviously, it's no surprise that wealthy powerful men will always have the upper hand, but I agree with Moore that there is something especially distasteful about this. Is it a show of strength to prove how many people are on side? We already know that these situations are already weighted against women.

I'm emphatically not saying that I have any opinion of the guilt or otherwise in this case, it's just the manner in which this crowdfunder has been arranged and promoted. Not to mention the dark hints about conspiracy which reminds me of Assange - another who leveraged his 'great' man reputation.

For years now whenever I've thought of Salmond, this image has come to mind. I haven't been at all surprised by the allegations.
