FFS! Bunch of TRA pandering wankers. I’m surprised the victims weren’t sent for re education for describing him as a man. 🤬

SimonBridges · 28/08/2018 23:48

So how would this work if someone was describing this person to the police?

silentcrow · 28/08/2018 23:49

www.pluralist.com/posts/1912-bearded-transgender-suspect-convinces-police-to-identify-her-as-a-woman

It took a little extra google-fu, but it turns out that the state of Oregon effectively has self-id only requiring a noticed doctor's note: "I am because I say I am".

Enjoy those skewed crime stats, won't you.

silentcrow · 28/08/2018 23:50

Notarised, not noticed.

NonaGrey · 28/08/2018 23:51

I would be interested to know how the witnesses described that person to the police.

Destinysdaughter · 28/08/2018 23:56

Can you imagine the identity parade?? What a bloody ( dangerous ) farce!

OP posts:
WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 29/08/2018 00:13

That ain't no lady. Though the police walked the Fanno Creek trail what they found at the end of it was still not a lady. Even my cat can tell the difference between a man and a woman by voices alone and she only has a brain the size of a walnut.

NotTerfNorCis · 29/08/2018 00:17

That would be funny if this whole distortion of reality wasn't so bloody disturbing.

AngryAttackKittens · 29/08/2018 00:41

Showing a picture seems to be the standard media way of saying "obviously we know this person is male but we're not allowed to tell you that using words".

WaddIelikeapenguin · 29/08/2018 01:16

How would that work! Either have people who match the "woman" description making th accused stand out or people who look similar to the accused but dont match the description Confused

PositivelyPERF · 29/08/2018 01:56

I’d love to see the identity parade.

“Now if all you gentlemen could just line up each side that ‘lady’.”

“What lady?”

“The one with the three day stubble” 😳

“Wot?” 😕

In the meantime the male criminal is throwing a temper tantrum because he wants ‘other women’ to stand with him, in order to feel validated

TinyRick · 29/08/2018 02:45

That's one stunning and brave woman there.

Showing a picture seems to be the standard media way of saying "obviously we know this person is male but we're not allowed to tell you that using words".

I wish they had done that with the NASA furry.

Comment after comment of sexist and misogynistic tripe (bitch, twat, silly/stupid girl etc), when I know it would have been different if Naomi's picture had been shown (and their posts on Mastadon right after the event).

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 29/08/2018 04:17

OFFS! More stunned than stunning.

Gileswithachainsaw · 29/08/2018 06:45

Yes u too would like to know how the description went down.

No one has ever answered that. When people go missing or commit a crime what do they tell the police or hospitals they are phoning asking if someone has been brought in...

Destinysdaughter · 29/08/2018 07:05

The word ‘woman’ is becoming meaningless now isn’t it?

OP posts:
birdbandit · 29/08/2018 07:10

Woman? Yep that word is meaningless.

CuriousaboutSamphire · 29/08/2018 07:11

“I called them with questions because it clearly looked more like a man [my bold] Mmm! More honest than Fox, who called him "suspect / person"

Surely someone has to realise that this sin't sustainable in the real world!

NonaGrey · 29/08/2018 07:15

It’s not meaningless though Destiny.

Everyone knows what a woman is.

Everyone can tell the difference between a woman or a man (even very small children)

CaitlynsCat · 29/08/2018 07:18

Kadin is lucky he is not black.

I wonder if the 'I am a woman' thing is a prank too.

Little shithead.

DuckingGoodPJs · 29/08/2018 07:20

More ladyfeelz than sense I guess.

SelfID - how's that working out again? Swimmingly!

gendercritter · 29/08/2018 07:20

I can imagine there are certain men who are getting off on this manipulation of people. The power we are giving them. It makes me feel physically sick

NonaGrey · 29/08/2018 07:41

I’m genuinely interested in the identify line up question.

What do the police do? If the suspect says that they are a woman do they pull in five other women of similar height and colouring?

Because given the fact that the witness almost certainly described the person they saw as male then that would make the line up unfair surely.

But then if the person insists they are “female” to the point that they claim entitlement to a women’s prison surely the line up should be female.

If you are claiming “trans women are women” how do you resolve this problem?

Has this actually come up in law enforcement procedures yet? Does anyone know?

AngryAttackKittens · 29/08/2018 07:55

And then if the witness is asked if the person they saw was there and they say "yes, it was the man with the beard" do they charge that person, or are they expected to throw out the statement on the basis of misgendering? What if they say "the one with the beard", is that acceptable?

Given that this was in the USA the police there put out something called an APB (all points bulletin I believe) which is a brief summary. If in this case it was to say, for example "white female, 5ft8, brown hair" and so on then everyone would be looking at entirely the wrong potential suspects.

SlartiAardvark · 29/08/2018 09:21

Can't they do him for lying to the police?
