Is a transwoman 'a person AMAB who identifies as a woman', or a 'woman AMAB'

The tendentious arseholes who edit such topics at Wikipedia have a mass debate about this.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view/Noticeboard#Definition_of_%22trans_woman%22

Basically the proposer of the first definition argues the first definition is not only factually accurate but also relatively more neutral since there is neither settled debate nor public opinion on whether a transwoman is a woman.

The debate goes off into such tangents as whether a TW was 'AMAB' or is 'biologically male', as the 'AMAB' label itself is obviously massively disingenuous, as it was only originally intended to be used for intersex people, where there was some biological ambiguity. In the case of TW there is no such ambiguity, the 'TW' thing implies a difference between gender identity and fundamental biology.

The various idiots posting there imply that gender assignment is essentially arbitrary, 1.6% of the world is intersex and all kinds of other trans tropes.

Their definition has these www.bbc.com/news/magazine-34290981 children who are biologically male as they have internal testes which produce testosterone in puberty as 'transmen' (since they are 'assigned female at birth', due presumably to basic standards of medical care). They are not - they are men with a disorder of sex development.

In some cases such men may be encouraged to enter female athletics, however this does not negate the 'male' identity of those who are male, identify as male, have male biology/reproductive parts, yet only become such at 13 or 14.

A transwoman is someone who is biologically male but identifies as female. If you aren't a biologically male you can't be a transwoman, it's a reserved role.

At least they haven't all swallowed the trans agenda hook, line and sinker. There's some clear, factual rationality there too.

yes there is but the trans agenda is the only thing they will allow into the actual article
