"A young politician and transgender activist who is running for deputy leadership of the Green Party was fighting for her political life last night after it emerged that she had used her father as her election agent even though he faced charges of raping and torturing a 10-year-old girl."

Presumably the police have looked - SS or whoever have gone to talk to children who have been in contact with him?

I don't know how this works. They must have done that though right?

NothingOnTellyAgain · 27/08/2018 13:35

Pencils - thanks for the spot.

Who the fuck thought it was a good idea to shoehorn that part of the quote into the GPs own statement, using a shit cut and paste job so you can see the font is different, and sounding peculiarly like they are more interested in ? obscuring his crimes or ? using it as a means to draw attention to the plight of people elsewhere in the world which is entirely inappropraite to be quite honest.

Who the fuck is in charge of their messaging?
A dudebro misogynist mate of "balloo"??

OlennasWimple · 27/08/2018 13:51

We shouldn't forget in all of this that it was a tweet about AC that got Miranda Yardley banned from Twitter earlier in the year - mirandayardley.com/en/i-permanently-banned-twitter-make-worry/

Latinista · 27/08/2018 13:52

Nothing I read the insertion about “human rights violations of women and girls all over the world” as a half-baked attempt to ward off the feminist/GC torrent that was coming their way.

placemats · 27/08/2018 13:54

Of course it does. Your parents and their sensibilities will influence you. If your parents are knitting their own yoghurt and weaving lentils chances are you will have that sensibility too.
Even if your parents are dreadful people then it will influence you not to be of that mindset.

If your parents divorced, remarried, had more children, will it influence your outlook on life or will it be all okay, because you know, children are resiliant?

NothingOnTellyAgain · 27/08/2018 14:01

Latinista

Well whatever it was it's painfully obvious and goes to show that the victim is very much not what they care about here

It fucking makes my blood boil. That poor fucking girl and what he put her through the second time with his not guilty.

And the greens are all like oh well we care about human rights violations globally.

yeah but actual violent deranged sexual torture of a child on your doorstep isn't so much of a fuckign interest to you is it.

I'm getting really angry now.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 27/08/2018 14:03

I think all your childhood experiences shape you, PLacemats.
What does this have to do with anything.
DC has been convicted and there are some serious questions around the judgement of Aimee and TBH how much Aimee is controlled / influenced by DC.

I'm not sure why you are going on about this and think you should maybe drop it.

sashh · 27/08/2018 14:11

FFS

AC was on the WM police inclusion panel and thanked by the chief constable - in JUNE of this year

Almost every mainstream outlet has now reported this apart from the bbc

Can everyone please take a few minutes to make a complaint. It’s shocking the bbc haven’t reported this so far. I mean I haven’t listened to every news bulletin but it’s not coming up on google.

placemats · 27/08/2018 14:17

I'm not sure why you are going on about this and think you should maybe drop it.

Am I being censored now?

People, mainly celebs in puff pieces, bleat on about the wonderful family life they had at home with their parents. David Challenor did this too. I'm reminded of this from an author I don't like:

“All happy families are alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way.”

NothingOnTellyAgain · 27/08/2018 14:23

No you're not being conseored but you are pullng the thread off topic on more generalised questions of pshycohology.

I'm not sure what it adds.

SirVixofVixHall · 27/08/2018 14:25

I also thought the bit in the GP statement about women and girls read really oddly. It is a better response than the first one, but still pretty crap . Would Caroline Lucas not be writing it, and if so surely she could do better ? It still seems patched together and woolly .

NothingOnTellyAgain · 27/08/2018 14:46

I don't think caroline lucas would write shit like that.

She seemed very good.

She stepped back a bit a while ago and is now co leader.

it'll be some bloke dressed as a wombat in their press HQ.

placemats · 27/08/2018 14:47

OK so it's fine to post and speculate about the family life of those who live with a paedophile rapist now jailed, David Challenor? The disabled wife, the son now daughter?

But not challenge that those who live with, sporadically, or who come in contact, via friendship or social activities, with a paedophile are going to be scarred for life and will be influenced by the parents hidden deviant behaviour?

Blame everyone but the man who did this, as per usual.

Aimee Challenor rightly stood down. Aimee should not have been described as a 'rising star' in the Guardian article as this clearly breaks safeguarding guidelines, and (I believe) constitutes grooming when it comes to vulnerable people.

I'm no fan of A C. They themselves have consistently broken safeguarding guidelines. Questions should be asked of the Green Party too.

But ffs don't ever say that someone who knew a paedophile is themselves going to be scarred for life.

I've seen someone commit suicide by throwing themselves under a tube train. Fucking horrific. But I'm not permanently scarred by it, nor am I likely to commit suicide.

Placemats you’re changing the actual words people have said to something they never said or implied. I’m not going to engage with your further as frankly, I don’t think there would be a point and it’s derailing the thread.

Ihaventgottimeforthis · 27/08/2018 16:59

They fuck you up, your mum and dad.

They may not mean to, but they do.

They fill you with the faults they had
And add some extra, just for you.

Good old Philip Larkin.

LassWiADelicateAir · 27/08/2018 19:15

Can everyone please take a few minutes to make a complaint

Several people have - including me. Some got a standard brush off. I haven't even got that.

GreenGloves · 27/08/2018 19:20

Would something like Feedback on R4 cover the fact that something wasn't covered by the BBC and should have been? I remember Feedback/Points of View covering negative responses to the play about a trans teen so I don't think they've been taken over by the wokes.

IfIWasABirdIdFlyIn2ACeilingFan · 27/08/2018 19:27

I wrote a complaint to the BBC yesterday but I’m not expecting a response until tomorrow at least due to bank holiday.

Destinysdaughter · 27/08/2018 19:32

www.breitbart.com/london/2018/08/27/transgender-green-party-candidate-quit-leadership-race-father-jailed-child-rape/

It's been reported on Breitbart news. Over 100 comments!

Juells · 27/08/2018 19:39

which include him committing some of the gravest human rights violations that face women and girls across the world

Can anyone guess what this means? Confused
(from the latest GP statement)

Juells · 27/08/2018 19:40

OOPS apologies, I see it's been discussed further back in the thread, missed it.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 27/08/2018 19:42

Yeah it means they have a fuckwit in charge of their statements on this matter

speakingwoman · 27/08/2018 19:46

I am so disgusted that I might have to read Breitbart for news.
Shame on the BBC.
