So: let’s have a thread where you get a rant but you also have to say something positive because, you know, the blood pressure.

The shit bit: I am FUCKING FUCKED OFF TO FUCK that it’s Manchester Pride this weekend and lots of my friends and relatives are posting all manner of Facebook bullshit “Transwomen are women” omg persecution awful how terrible their lives are let’s feel sorry for them urrrrrrrgggbhhjjjjkkhhhhhhhhhhjhh. Really it makes me livid, the lack of critical thought or even a tiny bit of common sense. So cross.

The Good Bit: my DS is bloomin gorgeous at the moment and I do feel absolutely blessed to watch him be so lovely and cute.

8th rule of misogyny: Men are whatever men say they are and women are whatever men say they are.

Women are saying no.

LadybirdsAreBirds · 26/08/2018 00:39

I can't fucking believe this shit. The lies, the ignorance, the not giving a SHIT about women and children

Positive: my son seems to be getting himself together; feeling happier. My husband is very very kind.

ShotsFired · 26/08/2018 00:42

Life has been absolutely shitty because of one person of late; and I have had to re-evaluate a lot of things and long held beliefs about them and me.

But on the plus side, I am going to see someone I love very much very soon and I will be emotionally nourished and cared for by them so I can put the mental burden down for a while.

ShotsFired · 26/08/2018 00:43

(I got that arse about face, sorry. Can I please piggy back on any of the other very valid rants and keep my nice thing?)

HavingALittleBabyToolshed · 26/08/2018 00:51

Shit - Went to pride today. Obviously pregnant woman with a walking stick and got shoved around by men, more times than I care to count.
Most of my lesbian and bisexual female friends felt they couldn’t attend pride in their own city this year.

Good - I am being allowed to have a home birth after being assaulted on the ward when I had one or my DC (by the partner of one of the patients).

Badgerthebodger · 26/08/2018 01:00

Bewilderness yup

Ladybirds yup and I’m glad you have a kind DH. I do too. Sometimes he is literally the only thing between me and complete and utter mental breakdown. I love the bones of him and the son we made

Shots be loved. Enjoy it. You deserve it - honestly and sincerely just enjoy being looked after and loved

Having yay for a home birth! My absolute best wishes to you lovely lady. Flowers

100 years after women succeeded in winning the vote there isn't a single political party that is worth voting for on women's issues or the issue of women.

Young people I spoke with about:
the encroachment on women's rights,
unforeseen intersections with safeguarding
at the beginning of August did a very polite eye-roll. Today and yesterday, I've had emails after recent new stories and Things Being Mentioned on Twitter and Appearing and Disappearing Like Brigadoon on Mumsnet plus Stickerwoman to say, "I must have been going round with my eyes closed. Ever since you mentioned it, it seems to be everywhere!".

*Vindicated. Not a crazy cat woman You know what I mean tho' I've never had cats.

Badgerthebodger · 26/08/2018 01:01

I’m going to bed drunk but please carry on your rant and actually it’s ok posts

Having

I could weep. I am so sorry for what happened to you.

Badgerthebodger · 27/08/2018 00:22

Shit: just the general fuckery of politics and the bahvilur of some fuckhead men and making a conscious decision not to “give way” when walking down the street and almost being knocked down Sad

Amazing: a quite old (and I thought) set in their ways family member sharing a feminist meme and one, ONE, of my FB friends coming out as GC.
Flippin heck though. Struggling at the moment to see the positives because I feel like I’m fighting the tide.
