I just ordered Freedom Fallacy, and Amazon is recommending this Ruth Barrett one, Female Erasure: what you need to know about gender politics' war on women, the female sex and human rights. It looks to be an anthology and I was wondering if anyone has read it and thinks it's worth a read? I'm abroad so these books always cost me loads... TIA 😊

I'm half way through it. I'm enjoying it, it is an anthology, some chapters are very short - about a page, some chapters are quite long.

I think it was initially published in 2011, which made me sit up and think as trans activists were already having quite an impact on lesbian communities well before the book was collated. It also makes you realise the inroads they've made politically and socially

Thanks Lefthanddown, I would never have guessed it was published 7 years ago based on the title! I'll add it to my wish list.

I've read it. It is an anthology of essays. Not all of the essays are feminist critique of gender ideology. There's poetry, stories, personal testimonies. I liked it because it's got a lot of non-academic women in there who are writing from the heart.

Thank you HerFemaleness, I think I'll get once I'm done with Freedom Fallacy, it sounds like an interesting collection.

The book Female Erasure was crowd funded and published in 2016, TRA’s tried to stop it being published. It is a great book and I am proud that I contributed to the funding of this book.
