What does the # sistersnotcisters mean?

I understand why cis is used (and dislike it) but don't understand the connotations of this hashtag. I could read it in two different ways!

I understand it as an admonition to embrace 'all women' (sisters) including 'trans women', rather than just standing up for the rights of biological, actual women (just cisters).

However, I think I was confused as I could read it as against the cis term. But of course it's not.

Bit upset to see it in a friend's fb feed. But hey ho.

It feels uncomfortable to me as it feels like yet another way women are coerced to think I'm a certain way, as so many of us have grown up knowing we are a sister to a sibling. It's such a female term to me.

Its generally used by the terminally woke handmaids who like to protest events like A Women's Place, where they don't actually bother finding out what it's really about.

I'm surprised that the person who has used it has used it. But they live in an area that's very 'woke' and yes probably have beloved the hype about things like WPUK meetings without really finding out.

The usual slogan is 'support your sisters, not just your cisters'. When TRAs put placards outside Kathleen Stock's office, they forgot the 'just' so they had 'support your sisters, not your cisters'. Freudian slip?

It's about badgering people to accept people with penises as women. It's a way of signalling they think you're a bigot if you can't possibly accelt that.

Ha. That pretty much sums it up.
It supposedly means support trans women, but it usually comes up when women are talking about their rights or bodies, so pretty much is used to shut down discussion about sex-based oppression.
Interesting that there is no equivalent slogan for men supporting trans men.

Support transwomen, forget actual women.

They are simply announcing to the world that they are an MRA who prioritizes men's feelings over women's safety.

Ah! I had completely misunderstood this! I thought it was a gc hashtag - I.e. we are sisters (by virtue if being biologically female women) not cisters (as we are not ciswomen). Oops!

The entire purpose of transgender advocacy is to create so much confusion by calling men women and women "cis" that they can bamboozle politicians into signing on to codifying a belief system into law.
