'ID Prole' 'TERF'

So the newest thing from the elite brats around the Guardian, posh student unions and 'radical' media is 'id prole'. How posh do young people have to be, and how long does elite social closure need to be uninterupted before you produce a generation of a young people who believe they can identify as your representation and routinely come up with insults to abuse those who do not obey? I mean even the acronym terf is that. Posh students saying feminism is a club they use to control what women think and do, its why they genuinely believed they could threaten womens freedom of assembly.
Is the problem with TERF less the males who identify as women and more the class of young people who have been brought up to believe you can actually identify as someones representation and abuse them for it? Because I truly cannot see how anyuthing but generations of elite social closure has produced a generation stupid enough to believe this and try and enact it in the UK.

What's an ID prole?

lisamuggeridge · 04/08/2018 13:32

A poor person who speaks for themselves and objects to the behaviour of te elite left. Who identify as that persons automatic representation.

Fuck me. Are they actually saying that?

I keep thinking of Marie Antoinette dressing up as a milkmaid

LangCleg · 04/08/2018 13:40

Wait, what?

Is ID prole a new identity? Or a pejorative? Are you saying they're now using classist as well as misogynistic language to describe pomo apostates?

If so, fucks fucking fucking fucking all the fucking fuckings sake.

Where in the Guardian has this appeared? A search doesn't bring it up?

R0wantrees · 04/08/2018 13:45

Michael Biggs
Associate Professor in Sociology and Fellow of St Cross College article following protest of WPUK meeting in Oxford:

users.ox.ac.uk/~sfos0060/FreeSpeechOxford.pdf

"A meeting was held on 25 April 2018 to discuss proposed changes to the law on gender recognition. The proposed legislation will eliminate sex-segregated spaces and activities, from women’s refuges to competitive sports. In a democracy, people have the right to meet to discuss—and indeed oppose—legislative changes. This should be incontrovertible. I am appalled that a small number of students at Oxford used extreme measures to stop this meeting from being held....
(concludes)
I have entered this debate not because I am a feminist but because freedom of speech is one of the highest values of a democratic society, and the basic foundation of university life.
Transgender activism poses a grave threat to freedom of speech. I think of the young MPhil student who had to disguise herself to attend this meeting because she feared the reaction of fellow students. This is the generation that we have educated."

I can only find 'id prole' results on one reddit post and this thread.

Who is saying this?

LangCleg · 04/08/2018 13:51

Where in the Guardian has this appeared? A search doesn't bring it up?

Not actually in the Guardian. Lisa means the clique of activists in and around elite institutions, including the Guardian.

lisamuggeridge · 04/08/2018 19:18

Oh no its a youtube video that set this off. I'll find it. discussing it as whatever *insertleftylanguage this signified and it was just another one they'd come up with. I'll find it(am in a slightly shameful youtube binge)

A YouTube video by who?

Dottierichardson · 06/08/2018 06:36

If you type 'id prole' into Twitter it comes up on a few threads. It's clearly a burgeoning term of abuse.

annandale · 06/08/2018 14:27

So far I've found it on two tweets, one asking 'what is it' and referencing one video, one by the same person saying 'apparently I'm an idprole, it's an insult used by the left'. My memory is so shot I now need to go back to twitter to see who the video was by [grumbles]

RedToothBrush · 06/08/2018 14:42

Am I getting this straight? Its a term where posh middle class brats pretend not to be posh middle class brats by insulting people as being more priviledged than them?

annandale · 06/08/2018 14:42

OK the video is by Martin lux. Wouldn't want to speak for him (as i am a card carrying member of the metropolitan elite) but his beliefs appear to be anarchist, antifascist and pro violent revolution. The video says id prole is a 'new insult' but again doesn't say who said it or give any examples of its use.

The reason I am saying all this is a reluctance to say 'this is an outrage!!' without some evidence that there is something to be outraged about.

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 06/08/2018 16:29

I can't see any evidence of it being used as an insult. I can see a video on Reddit (with no comments) of someone claiming it is being used as an insult. The same video is on twitter, and someone has retweeted that, but no evidence of anyone actually using it as an insult.

Could you post us a link to where it is actually being used in that way?

CesiraAndEnrico · 06/08/2018 16:40

Blimey.

The last time I heard prole used was at a Young Conservatives meeting in 1984.

Thought that one had met the True Death.

lisamuggeridge · 09/08/2018 15:49

Oh no. And its not just id prole. If you were not aware there are a cultur of highly privileged men who think our political economy is proles and those they rerpesent and speak for, there are, and this is the language they use and they have our trade unions and are currently abusing jewish people on the net in the name of Corbyn...ID prole is only one example...also melts, centrist dads, terfs...reduction of people to objectsso htey can be abused?

OP posts:
SlothSlothSloth · 09/08/2018 15:52

This post is extremely unclear. Having read the thread I’m still none the wiser as to what ID prole is, how it’s used and if this is indeed a “thing” or just something that cropped up in a couple of obscure YouTube vids.

Racecardriver · 09/08/2018 15:57

Nkt surprising really, the vast majority of children in tbe UK don't get a proper education so they come out as idiots. That's what happens when the state educates 90%

lisamuggeridge · 09/08/2018 16:18

Racecardriver its not state school kids taught that our political economy is proles and you can identify as their representation on dosser fringes at elite universities..

OP posts:
Juells · 09/08/2018 16:40

I can't figure out how ID prole even works as an insult.
