I'm quiet sure I'd know whether I'm 30, 27 or 20... but then I don't have multiple personas to keep track of so maybe it's all a bit confusing.

MoltenLasagne · 31/10/2018 19:16

*quite sure, not quite sure.

That is interesting. I did wonder how they could afford a Trans Officer representing such a tiny fraction of the population in the first place let alone maintain paying a salary for months while they investigated JBs other activities. Be interested to know if Carter Ruck get paid ...

rightreckoner · 02/11/2018 17:13

I’m guessing if there’s a rescue plan for the NUS, JB will be discreetly ‘let go’ without further discipline thus saving face for JB and saving cash for the NUS. He can then go and work for Stonewall and join Aimee Challoner and all the other super respectable people on their advisory board.

R0wantrees · 02/11/2018 18:19

Also worth considering that with NUS in fnancial crisis, if they would likely not be in a position to afford any potential legal actions which may have been / might be threatened?

BeUpStanding · 14/11/2018 16:38

Bumping this. Has there been any update?

KenDoddsDadsDogsDead18 · 14/11/2018 18:32

Re bumping. It's been quite some time. Nearly crimbo. We need answers and a resolution, no?

pombear · 14/11/2018 18:56

Should we be anticipating a new gofundme appeal for a forlorn ex/suspended/waiting-to-be-rehabilitated NUS Officer, wandering across the wasteland of NUS limbo, between bus stops and desks, waving the non-binary member in the hope of someone noticing. (Flop it out, wobble, wave, 'no such thing as a real woman', wobble, wave, 'here it is again pic' social media angel).

(I wish it was that innocuous. I'm anticipating the Action for Trans Health activist, the Police Bagpipe Band Interceptor, the Government fucking advisor, will pop up rehabilitated and trans-washed at some point soon)

Floisme · 14/11/2018 19:07

I find it very hard to believe the suspension has carried on this long. I'm going to stick my neck out and guess that Bradley and the NUS have quietly parted company but that the fancy lawyers have kept it out of the press.

Bradley may think that if they lie low for long enough they'll be able to pop up somewhere else without anyone noticing. But don't worry Jess, we will be here as soon as you do Smile

FloralBunting · 14/11/2018 19:41

That last paragraph is so disturbing in the context of the thread...

BeUpStanding · 14/11/2018 19:49

Floisme, you're probably right. Swept under the rug and covered up from view.

We best not let this thread slip too far down the board, keep it ticking over until Jess rears their head again.

KenDoddsDadsDogsDead18 · 14/11/2018 21:08

Bet yes. Tbh it was starting to become last week's fish and chip paper....must not let that happen!!!!!!

Ereshkigal · 14/11/2018 21:45

Oh yes.

DeRigueurMortis · 14/11/2018 21:54

We are also waiting on the Green Party's independent review of the Challenor debacle as well....

WitchfinderGeneralHarrumph · 14/11/2018 22:42

I'm sure Jess will rear h** head very soon - just not as a "Jess Bradley".

Just spotted that the NUS strategic conversation starts tomorrow:

This year’s event is taking place on Tuesday 27 to Wednesday 28 November in Bristol.

Even though they are discussing the ‘turnaround’ plan to rescue the NUS.. i’m going to guess the NUS are probably also going to be social media active over the next few days.. which made me think of the various unanswered questions that there still are for the NUS this thread. Smile

Though, i’m probably quite wrong about that because the NUS do seem so very terribly quiet and retiring (...on some issues...) Hmm

ChattyLion · 27/11/2018 07:31

Bump

Floisme · 27/11/2018 08:30

I think we should call the next thread ‘Where’s Jess?’.

rightreckoner · 27/11/2018 09:55

My guess:

Appointed to the Stonewall Trans advisory group in 5, 4, 3, 2...

Floisme · 27/11/2018 10:13

Judging by recent threads I wouldn’t be surprised if Jess has quietly moved on to WEP. And Leeds City Council.

Needmoresleep · 27/11/2018 11:06

*My guess:

Appointed to the Stonewall Trans advisory group in 5, 4, 3, 2...*

May already be there. Not all members of the group choose to have their names published. Open democracy....we don't even get to know who is advising Governments, schools, employers.... Though we now know from her Twitter, that Aimee Challenor is Secretary to the Stonewall Group. I wonder what she thinks of Jess' misadventures?

BreakWindandFire · 27/11/2018 11:53

If the investigation extends beyond Jess' term of office, then I assume it will simply time out, and the matter is dropped.

I think we should call the next thread ‘Where’s Jess?’
