But, most of all, why should we care?
Can you imagine the outcry if a woman had written that line?

That's a very very good article.

The comments seem almost completely supportive - and yes - just look at what is happening on Mumsnet but at the Times, barely a comment. Just comments about the right wing press.

In fact (and I don't work for the Times) but go and have a look at their headline investigation today - the rape and imprisonment of young women by men seeking British visas. It's horrific but excellent investigative journalism. The Times are now covering issues affecting women that the Guardian used to do before the misogynists took over.

It’s an excellent article and the comments are heartening.

Thank you. That was a good read.

The articles about forced marriage for visas were very good, but hard reading.

How true. I get the Times, DH the Guardian so I see what each reports in, and how little the Guardian cover issues that relate specifically to women, compared with the Graun. How things change!

Each and everyone is subject to all of these factors, but self-identifying as 'non-binary' is as preposterous as self identifying as a giraffe. We are free to do and say pretty much as we please, but society is under no obligation to engage in anyone's infantile fantasy.

I rather like this comment.

However, there did seem to be a fair few comments (which I assume are from men) along the lines of "who cares? What difference does it make?" and I think that is one of the biggest hurdles. Men have power, this doesn't massively affect men, so they dont care, therefore it's not a problem.

Good on the Times for pursuing these stories.
