Crash test dummies

I was just reading about how, due to use of male crash test dummies, women are at higher risk of injury in car collisions (50% higher in this article www.express.co.uk/news/uk/978731/women-car-crash-dummies-gender-health-research)

I found this absolutely shocking so scrolled down to the comments and they have made me really sad Sad.
Sometimes I find it really hard to believe my viewpoints can be at such polar opposites to others on issues I think are so clear cut.
How could anyone possibly think it is OK for women to be at a 50% higher risk of injury when the solution is just to use female test dummies!?

Male bias has all sorts of hidden impacts that are gradually coming to light. This one has been known for quite a while and I think the industry is addressing it more these days.

Don't take the comments to heart too much - BTL in a red top paper is scraping the bottom of the barrel on the thoughtful analysis front.

Because a lot of people hear the word 'feminist', and a whole load of contradictory crap appears in their head and they think that whatever is under discussion is likely to be Pomo rubbish and so dismiss it out of hand.

Other people just don't like women very much and enjoy fantasies about deliberately putting them in car crashes.

I am worried to keep looking further into male bias for fear of becoming completely enraged/terrified. The article mentioned drugs, with negative effects on women, being sold.
I solemnly swear never to read red top comments again! I only went to that article because it was first to pop up when I googled the dummies.
You are right Floral. A few years ago I was dismissive of feminists and I have no idea why! I guess the stereotype reached me before the actual fact based issues and I am so ashamed. Then I got older and had a daughter and my eyes opened.

Twig, pretty much me, yes. And you will get enraged. Because it does make any sensible woman incandescent. But you use it to keep you going when they try to make you doubt your own eyes.

It's such a shame, to put it mildly, that serious medical matters get trivialised by the red tops, not to mention the stupid comments from the ignoramuses in the op. However, it does seem clear that we are discovering more and more sex differences which have an impact on our lives. I hadn't heard about the increased incidence of bleeding on the brain for women with the ingredient they mention, nor had I any idea of the muscle fibre differences. All this while the Trans Brigade are trying to deny glaringly obvious things such as the penis being an exclusively male organ.
