I didn't know this, but apparently at the weekends, Neville gives control of his twitter account over to an activist.

Last night, a TRA was posting from hos account. It was the usual TRA rubnish about how people are trying to take away their rights, provoke them to react violently and, worst of all, giving the TRA version of what happened at Speaker's Corner.

Cue angry feminists replying to counteract the lies, TRAs coming in to say "stop trying to silence trans voices" and "we do get abuse" and a cameo appearance from Adrian Harrop.

What a shit fest.

Haha what a knob.

PyeWackets · 15/08/2018 17:54

Amazing isn't it and a real opener. People will go to quite extreme levels so long as they are approved of. His account hosted some quite startling misogynists but as the crowd approved he was cool with that.

Zero critical thinking going on, just virtue signal after virtue signal.

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 15/08/2018 18:01

LOL. He is such a dickhead, even without the misogyny.

That thread though.

Cuddlybabygirl.

I mean, no, not a fetish mate, not at all.

Nothing to see here.

It is not a fetish for everyone. It is also not a choice. People years ago believed that about transgender individuals. For thousands of littles or adult babies, they have felt a very strong inner child part of them their whole life, it wasnt a choice that happened in adulthood.

Shock

Hate to say "we told you so" with regards to "everyone's identity is real and must be validated by society" but well...

Shon isn't validating the adult babies

Tut tut Shon how very unwoke of you.

womanspeaking · 15/08/2018 19:31

Idly wonders what the difference is between adult babies and the repellent but much feted 'transgender 6 year old girl Stefonknee' ...

So....have we any idea how to tell the difference between:
A man
A man with gender disphoria
A man pretending to have disphoria who intends to assault or rape a woman or girl
A man with a fetish

Yet?

As I am still failing to see how one can tell.

Perhaps the ministers can let us know how we are supposed to know.

Just posting to say that I find this so worrying, and to say that I would like to raise awareness that there are very real mental health conditions that manifest as alters or parts of the identity that are different ages and even sex. These include Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), formerly Multiple Personality Disorder, and other Dissociative Disorders, in the DSM etc) but that this kind of adult baby role play is not a safe way to help or treat sufferers, or anyone feeling these kind of feelings, nor are the 'practioners' likely to be safe in my opinion.

I do not claim to know the motivations or mental health of people using this service promoted by the vile Neville Southall.

DID and similar disorders are almost aways caused by sustained trauma in early childhood (sexual and psychological abuse) and usually involves a significant degree of parental neglect and/or lack of safe and reliable caregivers, and (to be brief) the overwhlemed and damaged child mind copes by splitting off the trauma into other selves (parts) in order to survive the overwhelming abuse and state of fear and confusion. Some say narcissim develops in a somewhat similar way, but the resulting person is fragmented into less and different parts.

It is a very real, serious and under diagnosed MH condition, especially in men.

There are many women who are diagnosed with it as a result of ritual sexual abuse, and it is argued that symptoms may be more noticable in women than men for reasons of different behavioural standards and expectations, and for reasons of women being more likely to be seen as unbalanced and mentally unwell, plus women tendng to express distress by acting inwardly or to themselves rather then outwardly (and where male violence or acting out is 'normal') etc.

Diagnosis or recognition of this type of disorder is not a licence to abuse or otherwise behave badly to oneself or others but sufferers of this type of condition (it is not a fetish even if it may appear that way or 'become' one) are really very mentally unwell (some parts can be more stable than others) whether they recognise it or not.

Conditions like this need greater recognition, diagnosis and compassionate and skilled longterm treatment, and this will not include reckless validating and normalising of harmful or destructive symptoms or behaviours, but of unpicking them carefully and trying to restore mental health and safe healthy norms and boundaries.

Tragically and horrifically, as we know ony too well, some people who are abused as children do come to identify with their abusers, and may go on to commit abuse. And this does seem to be more common in males.

Diagnosis and treatment of such MH disorders of identity, the self and personality etc are vital to prevent the perpetuation of sexual and psychological abuse in future generations and to keep children, women and men safe from harm. This is why I think awareness of such conditions and their causes is a feminist issue. Thank you for reading.

The twitter account is the best thing I’ve seen all day. Sadly I’m blocked by Nev because I dared speak out during his last shot storm, but thankfully there are screen shots

IncrediblySturdyPyjamas · 15/08/2018 21:07

When my OH got in from work - we laughed about this. We just cant stop chuckling at Sunset's post earlier.

hackmum · 15/08/2018 21:15

Sunset’s post has made my day. Also extremely amused at Shon Faye.

Though, on a more serious note, the interesting thing will be what the ultra-woke do next. Do they admit they were wrong? Or do they double down and start defending adult babies too? Or do they engage in positively contortionist levels of cognitive dissonance and tie themselves in knots to somehow defend fetishistic cross dressers (NB, mentioned in Stonewall's own definition) but not adult babies?

Ereshkigal · 15/08/2018 21:32

Do they admit they were wrong? Or do they double down and start defending adult babies too?

I vote for number 2. This ideology crumbles otherwise. Huffington post LGBT got some flak for doing the same.

See this case where women's rights were disregarded (surprise!):

Found out about this earlier from Graham Linehan's twitter. Thought I'd pop over and have a look at Neville Southall's.
