In the 'Woman' section.

Underneath "Why we dare to bare all" about beach fashion and on the opposite page to "In a manner of speaking" about minding our manners.

I'm grinding my teeth as I flip to the Jobs pages.....

Tell me those teacups are full of gin.

This is the same newspaper that gave a two page restaurant review about a newly refurbished Nando's.....

That text, font, and layout look so 90s! What is going on with that paper? Ugh ugh ugh.

QuarksandLeptons · 19/07/2018 22:55

Bleugh! Beyond parody. Who on earth thought this was suitable for the 21st century!

Theshittyendofthestick · 19/07/2018 22:58

What the fuckity bollocks was that? Shock

OlennasWimple · 19/07/2018 23:16

Ha! You'd love our local (non-UK) paper! The problems page is full of things like "My husband has cheated on me with my sister and says that he wants a relationship with both of us" and replies to "make sure you define the boundaries of your relationships and be clear that your husband should prioritise you on special days like your birthday" Hmm

I have actually banned the DC from reading it, not because I worry that they will get corrupted like my DM worried about me reading her Woman's Weekly, but because I dont' want them absorbing that clap trap!

IJustHadToNameChange · 20/07/2018 09:03

Sorry phone died.

This is my local paper. Thursday is jobs day.

The standard has fallen over the years, but that 'girls' piece just caused rage.

Many of the people around here are scrabbling for cash, this is a very deprived area and this useless piece is from another planet.

Haha, looks like something out of one of my early 90's teen girls magazines.

Branleuse · 20/07/2018 09:16

its so shit

KwatahPanda · 20/07/2018 09:20

"Emotions"

We have lots of them! Is that not just being a human? Confused

"Equality!" Totes for sure- just don't look at the next page about DV shelters, lolz Amirite?

beenandgoneandbackagain · 20/07/2018 09:31

You say a piece from the 90s??? More like a 1970s Jackie.

IJustHadToNameChange · 20/07/2018 10:01

I suppose I've become so used to it that it has to really dumb down before I notice.

Having that tripe in the same section as an article on domestic violence is just amazing. “On the plus side, ladies, if your boyfriend kicking the shit out of you is getting you down there’s always gossip and shopping to brighten your day!”

IJustHadToNameChange · 20/07/2018 14:49

It's embarrassing.

I thought the first one was from the 1950s, rather than the 1990s.
Gosh, how far 'we' have come...

Poor Jemma Crew, she probably worked her bollocks off, has a bunch of degrees, had dreams of quality journalism and gets paid peanuts.

IsTheRainEverComingBack · 20/07/2018 23:03

That’s about as tone deaf as ‘journalism’ can get. Bet it’s written by a man.

Coyoacan · 21/07/2018 05:17

Yuck! I can't help comparing it to my world where we are trying to organise repairs to our earthquake-damaged apartment building and 90% of the people who attend the meetings and go out and hussle up support are women. The men seem to just be there for ornamental purposes.

This is typical of my end of the world.

Nothing like your corner.
