By their standards I was a boy. And probably am a man now.

It's all very sad, especially the fertility consequences Sad. At 11 I would have swapped my future children to get rid of my emerging boobs and allow me to continue as "one of the boys".

I would have had no idea what I was giving up.

And the saddest thing of all is that even at those young ages, and despite the hormones that many of them are on, for most of them their biological sex is still obvious.

They are looking forward to a lifetime of desperately trying to "pass" rather than just being able to be/dress/behave as they wish.

This is awful.

It makes me cross when people tell me "listen to your children when they tell you what they want" or similar.

If I did that, we would subsist on a diet of chocolate, pizza and chips, we would never visit the dentist, and school would be optional.

Listening too much to children leads to this madness. You listen when they tell you what masterpiece they created out of toilet rolls, you listen when they talk about what games they played. But you don't listen to them making ridiculous choices. As the adult, it is your responsibility to say no. You say "yes, you can wear a sparkly dress if you want to, but it does not make you a girl."

How can they call these kids 'trans male' when they are female or 'trans female' when they are male? Words have meanings ffs Angry

Starkstaring · 07/07/2018 09:32

Why does the journalist not answer the question in the title (or even discuss it?)
