Sorry, I am being a bit lazy and might be able to find this out from Google but I have a feeling it would take a while and some of you brilliant posters may have it at your fingertips.

I am looking for the Equality Impact Assessment carried out in relation to the introduction of the current GRA. If anyone can post a link or give me a pointer, I'd be very grateful.

TIA

Its a PDF you can view ion your browser or download;

consult.education.gov.uk/government-equalities-office/reform-of-the-gender-recognition-act/user_uploads/gra-psed-assessment.pdf

Introduction point 3
'' It is therefore not possible to conduct a full impact assessment on what the changes to the Act will be, as they have not yet been decided.''

So thats helpful.

Do you mean before the 2004 act? There may not have been one as it pre-dates the equality act and the public sector equality duty.

Useful history here.

Thanks. I do mean the 2004 Act. Thanks for your replies.

I can't post the full document but have attached the 1st page of a consultation that did take place with women/women's groups back on 2010, carried out by the Women's National Commission. Not a EIA though.

Note the response in respect of women only services for women who have been victims of sexual and/or physical violence.

"99% of the respondents believe that it is important for a woman who has been sexually assaulted or has experienced any other form of violence to have the choice to access a women-only support service."

Compare that to how these women's organisations are responding now, while not engaging with women/their key stakeholders.

Is that document available online banana?

bananistheanswer · 06/07/2018 22:52

It was but I think it's been removed. I originally found it via a tweet Karen Ingala Smith posted a while ago, I had the link, had the foresight to save that, but since I've tried to go back to the link it's gone. I'm not usually one for conspiracy theories but seems awfully convenient that this would be removed now, just when the GRA consultation has launched.

I'll try and find the link - if it does still work, then my spidey senses are clearly off!

I do still have the full document, it's 30 pages though so would take a while to load up (there's a limit of 3 or 5 screen shots per day here).

I'll come back if I can find the link.

This is the link

wnc.equalities.gov.uk/publications/cat_view/143-policy-documents/77-equalities.html

But I just tried it again & it still won't work.
