After doxxing. Would anyone be willing to search for me on FB - and tell me what you can see?

I'm a little bit unsettled really.

Also I'm unable to find the doxxing list on Twitter, can anyone point me in the correct direction, please?

Fucking brave new world.

Do you mean you want someone to search for you on FB and see what comes up?

I'll do it. Should I be scared?

Opheliah · 02/07/2018 12:55

If you are on the list you will be / will have been contacted by someone.

HollowTalk · 02/07/2018 12:55

I'll do it. Send me a message and I'll search for you. I've got a couple of things to do now but will be back online at 1.30.

AornisHades · 02/07/2018 12:55

I'd be happy to but you might want to check with MN that anyone you send your name to has been here a while!

AornisHades · 02/07/2018 12:57

Bike's been around a long time though I'm sure.

fruitcider · 02/07/2018 12:57

I'm not part of manfridays but I'm very happy to search for you if you pm me, I've been on MN for quite a while!

BikeRunSki · 02/07/2018 12:59

I've been here for 10 years. I am happy for you to search me. Have had a few usernames, but BRS is pretty longstanding.

SO what happens - you send me a PM with your name and I search for you on FB?

UpstartCrow · 02/07/2018 12:59

Can PM's still be seen by mods?

UpstartCrow · 02/07/2018 13:01

Sign out of facebook.
Clear your browser history and cookies.

Then google your name, and search for it on facebook.

StandingOvulation · 02/07/2018 13:04

Hiya, yes I recognise BRS name from many moons ago.

I'll PM you, thank you very much.

Thank you all for your support.

Just go to your profile page and click on “View as Public” and you’ll see what everyone else can see Confused

OldCrone · 02/07/2018 13:09

StandingOvulation
You should be able to do this for yourself. Just set up a new email and facebook account in a different name.

LassWiADelicateAir · 02/07/2018 13:35

How will this tell you if you are on the list? The list has been pulled from twitter. I'm not in Man Friday but I saw the list. I might still have a copy. I checked to see if I knew anyone and would have told anyone I did know.

There may be other posters who have a copy. If you know one of them in real life and they know you they could check if your name is on it otherwise you are giving your real life name out. I don't know who you are

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 02/07/2018 13:37

Standing - just be aware that the mods can see your private messages...

BlessBlessYawn · 02/07/2018 13:50

Please be cautious with PMs. In addition to all of the other warnings by pp, in particular that Mods can see them, MN appears to be having techie issues with PMs right now. An adequate plausible explanation hasn't been given. Be very cautious.

LassWiADelicateAir · 02/07/2018 13:57

Yes and do not send your real name unless you are 100% sure of who any one is. I probably could check if you were on the list. I think it may be on my other phone but do not pm me.

yearofthewoman · 02/07/2018 16:11

You should also Google your name. The lists will probably come up. (Add quote marks and search on the last week).

If it does (and it probably will) then report it to Google and ask for this search to be removed and they should do it for you. You'll need to give ID so it only works if it was your real name on the list.

Snappity · 02/07/2018 17:51

Sign out of facebook.
Clear your browser history and cookies.
Then google your name, and search for it on facebook.

Or just open a private tab

WhereDidYouPutMyPhone · 02/07/2018 19:11

I've sent you a DM with a link to the Twitter post.

FermatsTheorem · 02/07/2018 19:56

Bit off topic, but since Lass is on this thread, and the government consultation (the one hidden in the basement down the broken stair without a lightbulb, in a locked filing cabinet with a sign on saying "beware of the leopard") allegedly opens tomorrow, I was wondering if she'd be kind enough to post another link to the fantastic response by the Scottish society of advocates (if I've got the name right) to the Scottish consultation - I'd quite like to use it to inform my response to this consultation (if we ever make it past the beware of the leopard sign and actually find the damn thing).

LassWiADelicateAir · 02/07/2018 20:33

Faculty of Advocates.

www.advocates.org.uk/news-and-responses/responses/2018/mar/review-of-the-gender-recognition-act-2004

And the Law Society of Scotland's response.

www.lawscot.org.uk/research-and-policy/influencing-the-law-and-policy/our-responses-to-consultations/equalities-law/

Personally I thought the Faculty's response was quite bland.

I was not involved in the Law Society's response (nor the Faculty's not being an Advocate)

FermatsTheorem · 02/07/2018 21:19

Thank you Lass - will have a good look at both (I may have got the two muddles in my mind - I remember one of them summed up exactly what I think on the issue, but put it much better than I could have done).
