People who were not involved in any of the discussions about that persons erratic behaviour have been doxxed. The discussion is not the reason the doxxing happened

I am aware the people not involved in the behind the scenes discussion have been doxxed. My point was that if behind the scenes discussion about a member's behaviour were necessary why were they not conducted in secure and private mode?

BeyondRaggydoll · 30/06/2018 11:19

Can I ask something lass and other lawyers? Bullying isn't a crime, is it? So even if she was being bullied (which I've seen no proof of... which is weird cause if I were to doxx bullies, I'd release that - not a list of names), there's no crime? And I'd guess it can't be harassment, as it was a "private" group conversation? Is that right?

BeyondRaggydoll · 30/06/2018 11:20

A private group that they did not have - legit - access to

LastTrainEast · 30/06/2018 11:23

I hope you all get through this ok.

It's sad that supporting women's rights is something you can be 'caught doing'

Ereshkigal · 30/06/2018 11:24

Yes the doxxer claims that they have seen private screenshots of Hannah, Amy and Nic Williams talking about them. Has anyone else actually seen these or are we expected to take their word for it?

LassWiADelicateAir · 30/06/2018 11:24

Thanks for the explanation re Facebook. I'm not on any social media.

Re RaggedyDoll I don't think so but beyond the GDPR basics I know zero about internet law. Obviously there have been prosecutions about hateful tweets and texts but they are public or directed to the person concerned. But beyond that I don't know.

Judging on the evidence of bullying and shaking and crying because of one post in here, that has been deleted; I suspect it might have just said 'that person probably isn't best for this group'.

Or words to that effect. The fact that this alleged bullying hasn't been posted but just alluded to, is very telling.

MrsWooster · 30/06/2018 11:25

Kilgore sprout is capering with glee like rumplestiltskin about the whole #terfleaks, as they've labelled it.
I'm baffled by the whole thing- never joined the MF group despite, literally, buying the tshirt, because I didn't know thee was one- restart and I'll join now! Did join a fb group with Catt but now can't find it...?
With the trans debate seemingly reaching a peak, and consultation imminent, we MUST r main clear and focused. I know some who are being outed may face problems (I saw the list and it's findable thro twitter or dm me) and all I can say is stand up; we ARE on the right side of history and soon this will settle down and people will wonder that they ever questioned people saying that human beings can't change sex and that human sexes should be able to have separate spaces. Be strong and remember we are NOT trans or anyone else- phobic: we are pro women and girls' right to safeguarding and setting their boundaries.

OrchidInTheSun · 30/06/2018 11:27

'Bullying' is basically anyone calling the behaviour out.

enoughisenough12 · 30/06/2018 11:27

Regardless of the rights and wrongs about alleged comments made on line, it is just WRONG to publish women's names and identifying details online. It's an invitation to the aggressive unstable individual to take direct action against them for having political views.

I am horrified to see posters on here trying to excuse it and claiming 'whataboutery". This is completely inexcusable and it is high time that those who leak personal data like this reap the consequences. It is putting women's safety at risk - and that is never ok.

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 30/06/2018 11:27

Rumplestiltskin is exactly who I was thinking of.

Ereshkigal · 30/06/2018 11:28

Entirely agree.

enoughisenough12 · 30/06/2018 11:30

And YES MrsWooster - being pro women and girls' rights to safeguarding - that is what ManFriday and most of us are about.

PurpleCrowbar · 30/06/2018 11:30

I expect my employer has got a couple of interesting emails this morning, as they are listed & I'm quite near the top of the list alphabetically.

They will be VERY Confused as not in the UK &, I'd imagine, totally oblivious to all this malarkey.

Any point sending a pre emptive email explaining I've been doxxed by nutters?

I'm not worried, just cross.

Flowers & Gin to everyone who has more reason than me to be frightenedSad Angry

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 30/06/2018 11:31

Can someone clarify something as I am a bit confused:

I understand that the members of a Man Friday FB group have been released. This does not affect me.

However some have also said that additionally a list of names and email addresses sent to cattdesk Re McLachlan being asked to use female pronouns for her attacker in court has also been released? Is this the case, as this may affect me.

Ereshkigal · 30/06/2018 11:32

People sharing the list on social media should face consequences as well. This data was not in the public domain. It was copied from a private group and includes real personal data which is sensitive because it's related to a political viewpoint. It's illegal to share it.

LastGirlOnTheLeft · 30/06/2018 11:34

Absolutely no one can ever say that both sides are as bad as each other. Nothing could be as bad as these people...nothing! To trample over women and risk their well-being and livelihoods - EVIL! They're actually evil.

Ereshkigal · 30/06/2018 11:36

It has been screenshotted and archived and is continuing to be shared despite Twitter having taken it down. Deliberately malicious intent. Report the tweets to Twitter. Report the accounts who are sharing it.

Ereshkigal

The list is still on Twitter (or was 2 mins ago).

I won't link to it, for obvious reasons.

AngryAttackKittens · 30/06/2018 11:43

So to be clear, the person responsible for the doxxing doesn't understand what the word "doxxing" means?

madja · 30/06/2018 11:44

I had no idea this was happening here.
I'm not likely to be listed, as I've just started posting more regularly, but I've been on MN for years. This could have been any of us!
I'm so sorry that you lovely women have been doxxed. It's effing disgusting. I wish I could do more, but to those affected, don't let the bastards grind you down.Flowers

Writersblock2 · 30/06/2018 11:50

Everyone concerned should be reporting the tweet in question for leaking private info.
