Where can I see the list? I presume I am on it, and am the only person on Facebook with my name, so pretty identifiable

R0wantrees · 30/06/2018 09:06

Flowers for all affected by this.

& another heads up,
www.thetimes.co.uk/article/this-gender-battle-is-harder-to-solve-than-brexit-0jc0pn867
Janice Turner The Times:

(extract)
If Brexit is the most divisive issue in British politics, requiring a talent for squaring ideological circles and cajoling compromises from bitter enemies, reform of the 2004 Gender Recognition Act (GRA) runs it a close second. The consultation, long-delayed while three successive ministers for women and equalities scratched their heads, is finally launched on Tuesday.

Although even that isn’t official. Bizarrely the government wouldn’t confirm (or deny) the date. But I’ve seen emails: groups will give evidence in late July, a sleepy summer recess slot calculated, perhaps, to contain the GRA firestorm. Some chance.

Opposing forces are drilled for battle. On one side the trans lobby, including Stonewall and Gendered Intelligence, who claim changes to the process by which a trans person acquires a gender recognition certificate (GRC) are merely a tiny administrative tweak. On the other, feminist activists who fear that a legal redefinition of “woman” from biological sex to the nebulous, inner feeling of “gender identity” threatens female safety and privacy.... "

For the person seeking reassurance. The police don't really investigate bullying, harassment yes, unless you have personally targeted someone then your 100% fine.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 30/06/2018 09:23

That’s just the leaker though. What about the crazies who will issue a death threat at the drop of a hay?

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 30/06/2018 09:28

How can you be reported to the police for bullying, when you have no idea who the person is that is apparently being bullied?

What we do have is Kilgore Sprout's screen shots that link the doxxing to one particular person and the evidence of their sock puppet account.

sanluca · 30/06/2018 09:29

Just to say thank you to Bespin for trying to help minimize the damage and thank you to proudestmumm for pointing out the legal options.

I am not on the list, but these tactics make my blood boil. Why TRAs think it is acceptable to 'out' people online and harass them. Secret facebook groups should stay secret. The only people allowed to disclose are the police and legal system. Anything else is just the lowest of the low.
I also don't really care about the state of the person doing this. It is a reason, I get it, bit never an excuse.

Lastly, if GC feminists use these tactics they would get the same lecture from me. If people don't want to be identified, it is not up to anyone but themself to go public. Things said publicly is fair game of course.

I assumed the Ariel one was a joke account.

LangCleg · 30/06/2018 09:38

Well, this is just awful and sad.

Flowers for all the MF gentlemen.

YY. We certainly know that KG has no regard for the mental and physical safety of any of the women involved, including the alleged doxxer.

TheClitterati · 30/06/2018 09:43

Just saw this. I'm probably on the List. Just a lurker.

Can't access twitter at the moment. Is it down?

Not sure what I need to do, if anything Confused

Ereshkigal · 30/06/2018 09:43

*We also certainly know

TheClitterati · 30/06/2018 09:44

Please do what you need to in order to keep yourselves safe.

Don't have a clue what this might mean.

SPOFS · 30/06/2018 09:52

I can't remember if I joined ManFriday or not... where can I see the list?

Also, if it's the full list, then surely the doxxer themselves is on it? (It sounds like that's how they got in)

Lefty99 · 30/06/2018 09:59

Flowers for everyone affected by this it's awful. I wasn't on the list but had my own run in with the person involved. Even the smallest challenge to her will get an accusation of bullying and/or trying to kill her, so I don't think there is anything to worry about with her accusations.
Really hope their are no bad consequences for all of you on the MF group. x

@TheClitterati

Some of this stuff might be good for starters:

Lock down Facebook privacy settings
Remove your place of work from FB if it’s listed
Change passwords for all social media accounts
Don’t add FB friends you don’t know- even if they come up as friends of friends.

TheClitterati · 30/06/2018 10:07

Thank you water. I m pretty tight on all that already but I will check.

My work know I'm GC already so no worries there.

There seems to be concerted attempts to also smear / challenge Mumsnet.

Worth being aware of this.

TellsEveryoneRealFacts · 30/06/2018 10:41

People often come on here to make a reaction, or get a reaction and then post the reaction as evidence that we are all evil anti-trans witches.

CatsAfterSlumber · 30/06/2018 10:46

As R0wan says.

The transwoman who's been tweeting at length about this has been trying to get pick-up in various media outlets, here and in the US; and it seems clear that Mumsnet is the main target.

NaturalBornWoman · 30/06/2018 10:47

The TRAs hate Mumsnet, and if anything it's worse since the new mod rules came in

It definitely has, but I think it's all part of their plan. Harass MN until the rules are tightened and then come on and goad posters into breaking the rules. That's why they have been getting more and more vile.

Rufustheyawningreindeer · 30/06/2018 10:50

But nope, narc rage - crash and burn everything...

THIS!!!!!

I dont get it, someone recently said they want to close ALL of mumsnet down ...not FWR not a specific poster, the whole lot!!!

swearyg

Thanks dreadful thing to happen
