Did the test and I am medium to high risk of being the wrong gender.
Just discussed it with dp whose exact words were " What a load of bollocks. "

iklboo · 01/07/2018 10:55

I answered 'no' to most of the questions and still got 'low to medium risk'.

There's far less taboo in women wearing 'Male' clothing. There's no secret thrill in me putting on a pair of jeans and a t shirt - and it's socially acceptable.

This is no more accurate than those 'what breed of dog are you' quizzes.

What are "mannerisms of the opposite sex"?

There are an awful lot of assumptions made in this test, that you will just know what stereotypes they're on about.

Hi, late to the party (been away for a lovely weekend), but wanted to apologise to Lass if you thought I was challenging your clothing decisions in a negative way, or being patronising, as I seem to have been scooped up in other's comments too.

Lass it was your comment, after the list of clothing, that most interested me:

I don't own any of those. Those are gender neutral clothes. I don't wear anything which is gender neutral which made me curious. As it seemed to imply that you actively steered away from wearing gender neutral clothes for a specific reason. As females, we're lucky enough to include what may be seen as 'gender neutral' (eg, trousers, gym leggings etc, without anyone judging us like men may be judged wearing sterotypical women's clothes).

I wasn't sure how you'd 'escape' clothing that is 'gender neutral' in your everyday life. But you've explained very well how that is. Of course you can walk in skirts, exercise in skirts, and I wasn't trying to deny that you could. Was really, truly, just genuinely interested in your point of view.

I definitely wasn't questioning your general choice of clothes for comfort and joy - just in the context of that statement in particular.

I do think females are much luckier than males in the spectrum of clothes we can wear without being judged (but seeing Hannah Gadsby's powerful documentary, not that big of a spectrum, really, depending on your outward appearance Sad )

High risk - yes, I dislike how society sees my gender because... PATRIARCHY.

And I do get depressed about my biological role because... PATRIARCHY.

Shockers · 01/07/2018 17:41

I’m also apparently medium to high risk of gender identity disorder.

Which, quite frankly, is utter bollocks.

grasspigeons · 01/07/2018 17:41

im just a medium risk, but I found the advice to do more girly stuff so I get on better with girls really useful. (I get on really well with girls - im not sure why it thinks I don't)

LankinMcElf · 01/07/2018 17:51

Well I’m a low risk which quite frankly is a huge relief 🙄 what a crock of shite!

thebewilderness · 01/07/2018 20:53

You will probably not be surprised to hear that a woman who grew up in an abusive home environment and foster homes is assessed a HIGH RISK in spite of answering no to all the questions about wanting to be the opposite sex or hanging out with the opposite sex.

The could rename this "Test How Well You Conform to the Gender Hierarchy of Your Culture".
