Lass I cannot get my head around only wearing stereotypically female clothing. I have a couple of dresses in my wardrobe for formal occasions. I can't see why you wouldn't have a pair of runners or trousers for occasions like cold weather or walking.

CaptainBrickbeard · 30/06/2018 01:30

I wear 80 denier tights with warm skirts or dresses when it’s cold and like Lass said, it’s shoes which are important for walking; you can still walk in a skirt! Why is it weird to not wear trousers? Like Lass, I hadn’t for years - I did buy some jeggings this year to try them out but for the past decade or more it’s been skirts and dresses only until then!

LassWiADelicateAir · 30/06/2018 01:34

I don't understand this "you need trousers for cold weather" thing. In cold weather I will wear a thick lined skirt or dress, thick tights and boots. Jeans and trousers aren't nearly as flexible as skirts or dresses. Denim is cold in winter and hot in summer. Tailored wool trousers are fine for weather suitable for tailored wool trousers.

Why do you think it is impossible to walk in flat shoes or flat boots? Sorry but that is just beyond weird.

CatchingBabies · 30/06/2018 01:35

I came back as high risk, nope I’m just a lesbian. That is very scary!

LassWiADelicateAir · 30/06/2018 01:38

Cross post Captain I agree with what you say.

For work dresses are just so convenient - no thought required at all and they come in a far wider range of materials suitable for all weather. I can't think of anything worse than jeans in the weather we have had over the last few days.

Twotabbycats · 30/06/2018 01:46

I am female and came out medium to high risk! I did love playing with toy cars as a child Grin

High risk is apparently due to parental childhood issues (crap situation at home, verbal and physical abuse/dv from father who then had an affair that he expected me to keep a secret. But it didn't make me want to be a boy Hmm)

And high risk for social issues... well my physical health is not good, which stops me doing stuff and makes me a bit isolated, which in turn has lead to MH problems too.

All pretty normal really.

But I definitely don't want to be a man! It is pretty scary that I got that result when I answered no to all the questions about wanting to act like a male.

AngryAttackKittens · 30/06/2018 02:00

The targeting of young people from troubled family situations is particularly disturbing, since that's a vulnerable group to begin with. The people who create stuff like this are vultures.

thebewilderness · 30/06/2018 03:08

Everyone is transgender and they can prove it with this simple test!
See! They were right. Now take these dangerous drugs and sign up for surgery to get your breasts removed.

You are being a bit hypocritical you know.

You posted

How do I answer that one? Yes I wear comfy clothes from the men's department. Am I embarrased? No

You and Pom have been polite but it is just a teeny bit patronising to quiz me and ask for explanations, especially with such wide eyed astonishment, about my choices.

I took yours and similar comments at face value as simply showing how silly the question was. I didn't make any comments about your choice or say "I couldn't get my head round it ". I don't need to validate my preference by mocking someone else's.

Perhaps taking a moment to try to "get your head round" someone else's choices might be a good idea.

Indeed. That was the point I was making - even someone like me who has never been unhappy with her female body, enjoys dressing up and is very comfortable with femininity didn't get an all clear.

GorgonLondon · 30/06/2018 03:48

I got medium to high riskHmm
I don't have gender identity disorder.

thebewilderness · 30/06/2018 03:51

I hate pants that hit you at the hips instead of the waist and I am disgusted that they have been practically the only style of pant available twice in my life. TWICE!
I get these great rayon pants from Dharma that have pockets and are baggy and come up to my waist. Mostly I get the black ones but sometimes I dye the white ones. I just add leggins under them if it gets cold. I wear loose dresses that hang from my shoulders when I am at home all year round but they are essential in summer.
I never wear other people's clothes.
I am so glad we changed the subject from that silly questionaire to what we like to wear.
Two boys were sent home from school today for wearing skirts because they identified as boys cuz yanno they were boys but skirts are comfy in summer.

Just again for a point of clarity for years tests like this have been denounced by the trans community they are not helpful and have often had the adverse effect of people not being seen to be trans enough. There were some people that used to put great faith in the COGIATI test way back when and that's a load of shite too and did a lot of harm to people who questioned how they felt based on a test and didn't get the help they needed.

Writersblock2 · 30/06/2018 07:29

High risk and I didn’t say yes to anything about wanting surgery or hating my genitals etc. What a load of shit. Society is wrong, not me.

thebewilderness · 30/06/2018 07:39

Bespin, there is no official "trans community" to denounce these internet games.

Bespin · 30/06/2018 07:44

No your right there will remind.you of that next time people say we are a powerful lobbing group. But on the trans forums and groups that reflect our community they have been debated for years and most organisations would never condone them or thing they are worth anything

thebewilderness · 30/06/2018 07:51

I know what the transgender lobbying groups are and so do you.
You are on the other thread kicking women while they are down, and here you speak for the "trans community".
I see you.

R0wantrees · 30/06/2018 08:15

James Kirkup's article Why are some MPs trying to shut down the transgender debate?

"[MP Stephen] Doughty said. “Do you think the use of the phrase “trans lobby” is an appropriate one?”

As it happens, Dr Carmichael (GIDS) in her lecture said some things that seem relevant here:

“Gender has become amazingly topical and we have to be really careful not to assume that anyone is exploring or questioning their gender is going to want to change their bodies in line with that. The extremes on either side are not helpful. We need to look at the grey areas in between. To do that we need to be able to talk and discuss these issues. All too often stakeholders become lobby groups.”

She did not name any stakeholder. But her words might be relevant to a charity called Mermaids. Mermaids is a charity that describes itself as “a support group for children and young people with gender dysphoria and their families”. Its CEO, Susie Green describes herself as “parent to a daughter who was born male.” Mermaids is a relatively small charity (it had income of £127,000 in the year to March 2017) with a big reach. It has prominent backers and its advice and recommendations have been absorbed and adopted by many public bodies.... "(continues)

I speak for no one but myself lef, and I'm sorry you think that providing support on other threads for things I find wrong is not something you approve of.

thebewilderness · 30/06/2018 08:32

Cool story, bro.

Bespin · 30/06/2018 08:36

Your certainly down with the kids lol

FlyTipper · 30/06/2018 08:40

Question 7 is a shit question. Mannerisms of the opposite sex? Women flick their hair, men growl and flex muscles? What the hell is that meant to mean? What about: walking about the place....urm like a human being? Radical!

groundcontroltomontydon · 30/06/2018 08:45

Well when playing Monopoly I always wanted to be the top hat so sign me up for a lifetime's supply of snake oilHmm

AngryAttackKittens · 30/06/2018 08:46

I think I may have skewed my results by not interpreting the clothes of the opposite sex questions the way they were intended. To me that would mean, like, jock straps? Maybe tighty whities? The idea that they might mean trousers here in the 21st century did occur to me, but I dismissed it as too silly.

MajesticWhine · 30/06/2018 09:01

Medium risk here. I do like manspreading on the tube / bus. That'll be why. 😂
