Chemo drugs and children

It's not just children experiencing an early puberty, cancer and trans children that are given chemo drugs.

I was talking to a parent and they told me that they had a long conversation with the medical team, they were fully informed prior to agreeing that their child was given medication that could sterilize their child. Yet parents of trans children leave this part of the narrative out, it's always happy happy brave in the press, are they informed too prior to giving consent for potential sterilisation of their child?

Gosh, I hope so.

As an adult women with 3 kids between the ages of 6 and 18 I am currently expected to attend several counselling appointments before deciding on a cancer risk reducing surgery that will end my fertility.

You would hope that the process would be more rigorous for children, to less.
