I had a feminist rant at DP's best mate the other evening. I went on for ages. And he completely and utterly agreed with me. His comments were 'that's more than a bit crap', 'hadn't thought of it like that' plus loads of wtf.
At his age you would have thought he would have noticed but apparently not.
He then promptly identified as a lesbian. He did very well. He managed a whole five seconds before cracking up laughing. Although I didn't go on too much about the gender debate (he got that straight away). I was more on about the systematic way in which females are put down and controlled.
Instead of calling him DP's best mate I shall now call him Gender Critical Cabbie (but only in my head - he wouldn't have a clue what I was on about).
Anyway - it was in all a good conversation. He just hadn't bothered noticing till now.
But when you see it you can't unsee it.
