There's a woman on twitter trying to raise funds for a legal challenge to be able to bury her daughter. She's a comedian I've long admired & she's going through a heartbreaking ordeal just to bury her child.

I thought it was now free to bury a child in the UK? Its through the Childs Funeral Fund.

I've had a Google and from what l can see they were estranged, and lm hoping this is wrong, but there's statements that part of Vidal's stand up routine is how ugly her daughter is?

She has two daughters, an adult who passed away and a baby.

At 14 her daughter became involved in a bad relationship with an older man. She became a young prostitute at 18 and started taking drugs. She died young, I think of suicide.

The boyfriend, the daughter's violent absent father and her grandmother have teamed up against Ava to prevent her burying her daughter.

That can’t be right . Nobody can prevent a lawful burial. Where is the body currently?

From what I can tell, the daughter's older man was in fact Ava Vidal's ex-boyfriend. Ava sent her daughter away to Barbados at age 15 to live with her grandmother. Ava's ex-boyfriend struck up contact again and the grandmother permitted it. Ava is saying the ex is a pedophile etc. The daughter then got hooked on drugs. I believe she died abroad. Don't know about any stand-up routines.

To be honest, the story has a lot of holes. I have sympathy for her but I think if you send your child abroad to live with relatives, you have to accept that you have given up your parental responsibility really and that a grandmother who has effectively been the de-facto parent for the past 10 years or so will also have a claim. I don't think I will donate.
