Early reports say it was a woman driving the car. She was surrounded by a mob of football fans.

More details here. The first link is a film of the incident.

Helena but then you don’t have a penis or an England football shirt on. It’s ridiculous how such aggressive and threatening behaviour can be passed off as “patriotism”. It’s about as patriotic as Tommy sodding Robinson and his ilk.

HelenaDove · 20/06/2018 19:21

YY Unicorns Im not letting this go

It’s atrocious behaviour. Absolutely appalling.

wanderings · 20/06/2018 19:25

Bah. It's because of shits like him and his gang that some of us always long for England to be out of the fucking World Cup ASAP.

Will he be prosecuted and made to pay at least £10,000 (or a short prison sentence), or will pigs fly?

HelenaDove · 20/06/2018 19:44

How the local paper is reporting it.

Potentially triggering...

Grace Coddington wrote about a similar incident in her autobiography. In the 70s Chelsea fans leaving the football ground surrounded her car, and ended up tipping it over. She was pregnant and the attack caused her to miscarry.

I hope the woman in this incident is okay.

Noqont · 20/06/2018 22:30

I hope his ankle fucking hurts. Twat.

"Knowing football fans as I do, almost certainly yes. I've worked in a petrol station that was systematically relieved of its stock (the shop, not the petrol pumps) by a marauding band of fans/arseholes. It was irrelevant that it was a feller behind the counter"

Bloody appalling.

Well this happened yesterday not far away But described as an unacceptable incident rather than just a disturbance. Posher area.

Also interestingly it sounds like its men hurting each other.

In the previous incident in my OP it was a woman in a car that got attacked.

Can you imagine if a bunch of drunk women did that after watching women’s football or something? No way would the papers report it as a bit of good fun, social services would probably be involved if any of them had kids!

HelenaDove · 09/07/2018 18:41

Angels ..............excellent point.

It's not the football. It's men and alcohol.

I know that spot well. Poor woman she must've been petrified

ohamIreally · 10/07/2018 08:58

I think it is to do with the football as well. I think it promotes a tribal mob mentality in some men.

I don't think it's to do with the "men, football and alcohol" combination. I think it's to do with men. They can be violent fuckers for seemingly no reason sometimes but, rest assured, it's more often than not a choice they make - seldom random.
We should never apologise for the choices they make.

HelenaDove · 11/07/2018 01:21

Its interesting that the woman is found in a matter of days yet the men in my area who did the same thing havent been found and its been weeks.

OP posts:
ohamIreally · 11/07/2018 09:07

Helena I thought the same thing. All the focus has been on this one young woman. Almost as if she's a scapegoat Hmm

www.reuters.com/article/uk-soccer-worldcup-uk-police/uk-police-warn-world-cup-revellers-after-shocking-behaviour-at-weekend-idUKKBN1JZ1Z0
