I've just watched this short film about a young woman who survived an attempted 'honour' killing in Pakistan by her father and uncle. She was shot in the face and thrown into a river to die. It was incredibly difficult to watch and I found it very upsetting. However i'm glad that I saw it as I know so little about this crime. Apparently more than 1,000 women are murdered in Pakistan each year by male relatives. The victim (Saba) faced a huge amount of pressure from the local elders to forgive these men and showed incredible bravery and strength throughout. It's on Now tv and YouTube.

Gonna have to watch this when I am more ready to despair at the cruelty of the world. Thanks for the recommendation.

I was just looking up the director online and she won an Oscar for this film in 2016. Her name is Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and i've never heard of her before. Which is crazy as she's won two oscars for her documentaries so far. I think that every person who believes that transwomen are women should watch this. I would hope that they would change their opinion. This is a stark example of a young woman being oppressed by her biology, in fact she was almost murdered because of it.
