JFC, if I were in any doubt about the misogyny of this, I certainly wouldn't be now. This movement's aims are not only to erase us but replace us and that is horrifying.

@Pratchet, in that article, two sentences stood out: "As for wombs, they're not absolutely necessary. " and "Nor is the womb anything special".

That says it all really. I think they can't deal with the fact that women can do something amazing with their bodies, and men can't.

They can't. They hate that so bad.

Babies would have to be born at 6 months' gestation or the carrier would suffocate from collapsed lungs.

Greer had it on the nail when she described how Bruce Jenners transition was about attention - he saw his stepdaughters getting attention for being women, and he wanted it.

I used to socialise with someone who was AGP (which I didn’t know about at the time)

He liked to set up casual dates and actively seek casual sex in which he presented himself as a “sissy slut”

Fair enough, each to their own sexual tastes.

But he’d then demand sympathy for being some victim who was “objectified by men”.

What he wanted wasnt sex, but the “attention” that he deluded himself all these teenage girls get.

Same with the “pregnancy” - if these guys weren’t transitioning, they’d be the husbands who’d be jealous of all the nurses and midwives looking after their pregnant wives, or who’d cry and pretend they needed support and cuddles and painkillers when their wives were in the middle of a brutal labour.

I'm an occasional lurker over here and don't feel I know enough about feminism to really get involved with the discussions but that Twitter linked article about the fertility 'expert' saying trans women could give birth tomorrow has just left me astounded. As if it would be as simple as shoving in a womb and performing a c section. Sweet Jesus!

I can’t see many men ever wanting to do this, even if it was possible. The risk of tearing up to their ball bag during labour would sending them running for the hills

I think far more likely, would be to pay some poor woman to carry the baby, whilst the man wears a fake bump, complains about his back ache etc for 9 months for the attention, and then, once the labour starts, he has some kind of right to be in the delivery room, and he will later explain to people how traumatic HIS Labour was.
