Join me in celebrating the suffragettes

Now, more than any time since the fight for the vote, women are having to fight.

FGM. Unequal pay. Sexual harassment. #MeToo. Mental load. Women's spaces. Pink toys. Sport. Caring responsibilities. Unconscious bias. Sector limits. Forced marriage. Prostitution. Exploitation. Femicide. Domestic violence. Maternity leave.

The list doesn't end.

I've brought some ribbon : green (give) white (women) violet (votes). (Good shades at the works right now). I'll be making up something subtle, both to celebrate the Suffragettes and thank them for what they did, and as a symbol of my commitment to keep fighting. And a reminder, I'm sure I'll need it.

I hope some of you will join me.

Great photos! Thank you for the update.

I have passed on the thanks. Smile

Think I might have to get over there myself sometime. She said the display is up until September so it gives me time if I give myself a kick up the arse!Grin

I can recommend exhibitions at the Museum of London, Manchester People’s Museum, the National Archives, the Weston Library in Oxford and the soon to be opened one in parliament. I’m a historian and can recommend resources, websites and anything else. We MUST remember the suffragists and suffragettes, heroines all.

Ooh please share your favourite websites! I can't get out much but would love to know more.
