Three thousand tickets sold.

clean bandit have a rather similar background to much of westminster so seem fitting

LassWiADelicateAir · 16/06/2018 08:15

I'd never heard of Clean Bandit but apparently they are quite famous. I suppose someone might pay £10 to see them but I hope it does turn into the much anticipated embarrassing disaster.

PointlessTV · 16/06/2018 08:20

No Ann Marie, she sang their biggest hit.

What a stupid idea.

Mind you, all this "allegedly 3,000 tix" and "allegedly" having a battle with the beer company. The Guardian do need to have an obligatory Corbyn bash daily so if this is the most they can find... Meh.

PointlessTV · 16/06/2018 08:26

I think the song was more popular because of the singer, not the musicians. This is very high in the charts right now.

I keep getting annoying emails from Labour HQ about this.

Bombardier25966 · 16/06/2018 10:05

Not sure why you see this as sticking two fingers up at women, I'd expect them to make up half the audience. All because it doesn't appeal to you, it certainly will to others.

Ereshkigal · 16/06/2018 10:06

Not enough apparently though.

There is nothing allegedly about the tickets being dropped to £10.

This isn't "rhe most " the Guardian can find to criticise Corbyn on- there is so much to pick from-this is just the latest.

PointlessTV · 16/06/2018 10:13

Did you miss Matt (A Corbyn adviser) on Sunday Politics or Owen Jones stating that the Labour party was happy to chase the youth vote, that they don't have any interest in votes from women, especially those that don't include biological males in every aspect of spaces and services for women?

Moonkissedlegs · 16/06/2018 10:17

God the Labour Party are just cringe now aren't they, what an embarrassment.

A tenner to see Clean Bandit is pretty good though, they are fairly big at the moment.

Ereshkigal · 16/06/2018 10:22

It's like the Apprentice at the end of the street/market sales task when they run around the streets offering 10 burgers for a pound so they can offload as much stock as possible.

Moonkissedlegs · 16/06/2018 10:30

Also, this is taking place in 'edgy' North London.... Where else I guess?

LassWiADelicateAir · 16/06/2018 16:15

One of the bands, Hookworms , has pulled out. Reason is an unspecified personal emergency.

(I have no idea who they are but how pretentious to be known only by initials)

PointlessTV · 16/06/2018 16:18

The mail has photos of empty fields, a scattering of a few people lounging around and three deep by the stage.

Sarahconnor1 · 16/06/2018 16:54

They were giving away tickets for this event via the unions because presumably they couldn't sell them. Yes it's painfully cringe.

busyboysmum · 16/06/2018 17:30

Ah well. Labour are dead to me at the moment. If they reconsider their position on self id I would vote for them again. But not until then.

CorbynsComrade · 16/06/2018 18:49

Still looks like a decent turn out to me...

Giving women the two finger salute and chasing the youth vote
Moonkissedlegs · 16/06/2018 18:52

Do Labour honestly think they will win a general election with a few hundred woke youth London votes? I just do not get it?

Sarahconnor1 · 16/06/2018 18:55

It's just preaching to the converted though isn't it?

Sarahconnor1 · 16/06/2018 18:57

Yes they do. When what they actually need to do is appeal to the middle ground and to people outside London.

Moonkissedlegs · 16/06/2018 18:58

Yes there's that too - it's just preaching to the converted, a circle jerk over how worthy and woke they all are.

Moonkissedlegs · 16/06/2018 19:00

I don't think Jeremy cares about any elections. He can't do. He does nothing, nothing to try and appeal to old Labour heartlands. And fucking Owen Jones as well.....

LassWiADelicateAir · 16/06/2018 19:05

Any "decent turn out" is down to the fact that there are people turning up in the late afternoon soley to hear a (apparently although I'd never heard of them) big name band for £10.

Oh and clever editing of photos.
