I am a woman.

I was a girl.

I am an adult human female.

Something a man can never be.

I am a woman.

People refer to me has her and she.

Sometimes said with deep contempt and misogyny.

I am a woman.

Something a male will never be.

I have a vagina and uterus.

I menstruate and have given birth.

I am a mother.

Something a male will never be.

I have been insulted, assaulted, belittled, dismissed, held back, intimidated, stereotyped, terrorised, mocked, shamed, humiliated because I am a woman.

Something a male can never be.

I feel insulted, appropriated, offended, anxious, tense, depressed, hurt and under siege, when a male claims to be a woman or anyone says a male can be female.

It is not civil or respectful to treat me this way.

I am a woman.

I am Spartacus.

Others have said it more eloquently but as an infertile woman I want to repeat - GhostTess kindly keep infertility the fuck out of your shonky arguments. You don't get to appropriate this.

Ereshkigal · 18/06/2018 09:42

Sex is defined by reproductive role, not reproductive ability.

Yep. That person's lame sophistry doesn't fly here on MUMsnet.

Prawnofthepatriarchy · 18/06/2018 09:43

What's Weetabix Banana Horror? Sounds interesting

AngryAttackKittens · 18/06/2018 09:43

Remind me what Weetabix Banana Horror involved? Weetabix with milk and sugar is acceptable...

Ereshkigal · 18/06/2018 09:43

I had a lovely carrot cake yesterday. Was on the house at restaurant where I took my dad for Father's Day.

GhostTess · 18/06/2018 09:43

@CertainHalfDesertedStreets

Your logical fallacy is false attribution. It would be impossible to know this unless everyone we're surveyed. Which they have not been.

ginghamstarfish · 18/06/2018 09:45

Agree with you OP. Another Spartacus.

Ereshkigal · 18/06/2018 09:46

I guess they didn't need to vote cos it's so very fucking obvious to anyone who is in touch with reality.

This!

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 18/06/2018 09:47

Everyone knows what a woman is everywhere on Planet Earth. Just like everyone knows the sun rises and that you shouldn't put oats in a crumble topping. No-one needs to survey anyone. And everyone who posts and lurks here knows that. Including you actually.

GhostTess · 18/06/2018 09:49

@CwrtainHalfDressedStreets

I see you don't understand the logical fallacy. That's ok, spend some time thinking about it.

Ereshkigal · 18/06/2018 09:49

I see you Certain! Slipping in your oat-exclusionary worldview in among the self evident truth as if it's equivalent Grin

AngryAttackKittens · 18/06/2018 09:50

You are wrong about the oats! But right about all human beings everywhere understanding sexual dimorphism.

terryleather · 18/06/2018 09:51

Weetabix Banana Horror is mushed up banana and Weetabix with (I think) hot milk...........

We need Lang (if indeed it is Lang)
to confirm!

GhostTess · 18/06/2018 09:51

@CertainHalfDeessedStreets

If it's so easy to define, perhaps you could do this for us all here and now?

terryleather · 18/06/2018 09:53

Woman is an adult human female.

And oats can go in a crumble topping.

Ereshkigal · 18/06/2018 09:53

Several people have below. Do keep up!

Ereshkigal · 18/06/2018 09:54

What's your view on the oats, GhostTess? Yes or no to crumble? That's the debate!

JuicySwan · 18/06/2018 09:54

I am not Spartacus because I’m a woman and I cannot be a man.

Just like a man can’t be a woman.

AngryAttackKittens · 18/06/2018 09:56

Also, sweet fruit, tart fruit, or a combination of the two?

If anyone suggests putting Weetabix in crumble in any way I think we may have to shun them. There are limits, after all.

GhostTess · 18/06/2018 09:57

Hi @terryleather and @Ereshkigal

As defined by Pratchett once again you disenfranchise women who are infertile and I've yet to see one that doesn't include this.

So soon as I see one I'll use it for the sake of arguement.

Pratchet · 18/06/2018 09:58

You may have impressed yourself by learning the phrases 'logical fallacy' and 'straw man' but you seem to think that we, as mere women, are incapable of coherent analysis of your use of them.

Let me disabuse you of this misconception. Every feminist poster here is capable of understanding meaning, tautology and circularity. We all know what a straw man is. We can all pick apart a logical fallacy.

We are tired of incoherent, messy, over-emotional bullying dressed up as argument.

There are so many holes in your case, but when these are explained, you repeat yourself. You respond with long posts that don't make any sense. You refuse to absorb information generously offered and simply make things up to support the made-up 'fact' that men can be women.

You need to stop all that, and start listening to women. Thankyou.

Pratchet · 18/06/2018 10:00

Infertile women are still of the sex that gestates and bears young.

Please tell me which of these words you are struggling with.

BesmirchingMotherhood · 18/06/2018 10:01

Is there some kind of non-weetabixy prize for saying ‘logical fallacy’ most often?

Phallusy

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 18/06/2018 10:03

Kittens I have spent a great deal of time on other threads detailing my 'freezer left over apple bag' and how it results in the perfect mix of different flavoured and textured fruit for the crumble. It's not a binary choice between sweet and tart fruit however much you might want to make it one.

Edumercate yourself. Cake

Why isn't there a crumble emoji?

BesmirchingMotherhood · 18/06/2018 10:04

I’m infertile and totally a woman. I can tell by my tits, fanjo, periods and oppression at the hands of the patriarchy. Hope this helps.
