Another deluded fucker. Sigh.

Gileswithachainsaw · 11/06/2018 18:17
Hmm
changemymindabouttrump · 11/06/2018 18:19

It's a tweet to LM who I decided to take a look at wondering if I'd been blocked since I hear that happens to most

Maybe the writer is being facetious?

Dear God please

Pratchet · 11/06/2018 18:21

No they're just being told that online by groomers

dinosaursandtea · 11/06/2018 18:23

Plenty of trans men and non-binary people have a uterus.

Pratchet · 11/06/2018 18:23

They're women

changemymindabouttrump · 11/06/2018 18:24

Surely a trans man isn't risking pregnancy though? Wouldn't that defeat the whole being a man idea?

OP posts:
changemymindabouttrump · 11/06/2018 18:25

@Pratchet had a better answer to it

OP posts:
Pratchet · 11/06/2018 18:25

It's all they seem to do

Baroquehavoc · 11/06/2018 18:25

Who is stopping TM talking about terminations of pregnancy? If a TM were to seek help, would they be turned away? Are TM really not going to seek help because the service talks of women?

Are services encouraging "men" to have prostate check ups targeted to this extent?

SupermatchGame · 11/06/2018 18:28

They're women

They may be legally men. In which case they would need to be appropriately referred to in any legislation.

CertainHalfDesertedStreets · 11/06/2018 18:34

Which is batshit tbf. And also wasn't Millie's point when she 'just dropped by' to police the internet for 'problematic' discourse about women's bodies.

Ereshkigal · 11/06/2018 18:40

This thread is relevant

Well, it’s happened... the trans activists have waded into the 8th amendment issue in Ireland

Pratchet · 11/06/2018 18:45

They are not legally men. They have the legal right to be treated as if they were men, except in certain circumstances.

changemymindabouttrump · 11/06/2018 18:58

Bloody hell so women in Ireland finally can have abortions... but they can't be called women and allowed to have that right of choice over their bodies before the TRA hijack it and decide they're not deserving of being called women in legislation

I'm going to crawl under a rock I think and wail.

OP posts:
Bowlofbabelfish · 11/06/2018 19:09

They aren’t men.
They arent legally men.
No TM would be turned away from abortion services if they needed them.
Hollie has a tenuous grasp of reality and biology.

I think that about covers it, did I miss anything? (passes soothing cuppa to OP under her rock.)

Serfisafleur · 11/06/2018 19:33

Transmen have uteruses.
Transmen may require an abortion.
Transmen have periods.

Not men.

Alwaysfrank · 11/06/2018 19:53

I think this is my first post in feminism chat, I've been drawn in since following the fabulous manfriday threads, so please be kind!

Surely a transman or a non-binary person was also previously cis female (under the definition that they were assigned female at birth) so why the need to re-write history? Can't any legislation apply to those who were assigned female at birth regardless of how they may choose to present in later life?

I am similarly confused about the dead naming on Twitter thread - are we supposed to pretend that someone like Ian Huntley, his decades as a man and his heinous crime didn't happen if he decides to transition to Lian?

I am starting to feel incredibly old - the world has gone mad!

UpstartCrow · 11/06/2018 19:58

Alwaysfrank Have you watched any of the propaganda films from North Korea? It''s exactly like that.
If you have netflix, watch Under the Sun.

Ereshkigal · 11/06/2018 20:01

Yes it would be easy to do this and it's a sensible solution. But they want to pretend they aren't biologically female.

changeypants · 11/06/2018 20:03

this is always going to be a problem when a group of people decides to change the meaning of a word without there being a general consensus. when i say "woman" i don't mean anything to do with gender. as i personally don't identify with a gender i don't presume anybody else's. i just mean adult human female. i don't understand how identifying as a trans man negates the ability to know you have a female sexed body and access info accordingly?

when i am looking up parenting info i don't require that i am referred to as a cyclist or as my professional role title even though those things inform my personality as well.

i huge have sympathy for those with dysphoria but reading stuff like this is very alienating. it seems too closely related to being told to shut up about our inconveniently messy bodies and all that reproductive yuck. women have only just started talking and now they are to stop?

I thought he wanted to be Nicola? The same as Holly Wells mum Angry or is that an Internet myth?

OP posts:
Pratchet · 11/06/2018 20:21

They aren't men, biologically or legally

whaleroad · 11/06/2018 20:41

If transmen still have the hormones that mean they're having periods and are capable of getting pregnant, what makes them transmen, let alone men? They're women who dress in a way that we normally associate with men. I'll use whatever pronouns you like, and you're welcome in whatever bathroom, but I worked hard for many years for my science qualifications and I'm not going to forget it just because the facts hurt your feelings.
