Does your Local Authority Equality Policy exclude sex as a protected characteristic?

Inspired by Jean Hatchet's posts on twitter, I checked mine and colour me shocked, it's been excluded.

Attached below is the list from the EA2010 with my LA's interpretation alongside - note the wording We believe our responsibility for equality is wider than those areas covered by the Equality Act 2010

So removing sex from the list of protected characteristics widens the scope of the EA2010?

So what's your LA equality policy like?

Clawed evidence of lobbying the Scottish Parliament

They are very, wry keen to get the Equality Act amended.

Well spotted CSI cismyfatarse (love that name!)

So that's fingerprints all over Scottish Councils' replies and some DNA left at the scene of a meeting with an MSP.

Does Stonewall run Scotland or something? I think we should be told.

That lobbying website is gold. They have to record meetings (do they at Westminster?) if it is with an MSP and an organisation.

Lots to find out there. Yes. Stonewalll is in charge with Minister of Education being LGBT Youth Scotland.

Mine local authority seem to now include sex which wasn’t included earlier this year.

Worryingly my workplace is all over the place with it. They include sex at the start but the lines with gender get very blurry further down their document.

They report stats on work force as gender identity “no local data” but stats on patients based on sex.
