Newcastle students put sanitary bins in gents for the gender neutral

Sanitary bins are to be placed in male lavatories at a university so that gender-neutral students can use facilities “they feel most comfortable with”.

Article in the Times by Gabriella Swerling

I'm sure our second hand tampon and towel wearers will be over the moon at this news.

Actually, I think it’s brilliant. Men are, rarely, affected by this self ID nonsense and many think women are over reacting or saying ‘serve the feminists right’. If they have to have the icky sanitary stuff in their toilets, then bring it on. When it starts making men feel uncomfortable, then it might make them think twice.

Now waiting for all the NAMALTS and shouts of TERF. 😴

AsAProfessionalFekko · 05/06/2018 20:09

It will probably trigger male born individuals who ID as men (although there won't be the wailing and gnashing of teeth like some people).

A move which should be supported

That did spring to mind, I'm tempted to link the article.....

I have one. Do you dare me?
Will it pass the mods?

GeordieTerf · 05/06/2018 20:23

This is a good move, imo. It's not hurting anyone and will help trans men.

spontaneousgiventime · 05/06/2018 20:25

Picassospaintbrush Double, double dare you. You have to provide a link or screenshot though Grin Sorry I assumed you didn't have ST, my bad.

It's good, the tampon fetishists don't have to come into the women's any more.

Racecardriver · 05/06/2018 20:30

Well it's only fair. Otherwise the female loo becomes the female and all transpeople loos.

MilkTwoSugarsThanks · 05/06/2018 20:30

Is it not to help trans men who haven't had surgery?

Pratchet · 05/06/2018 20:34

I identified as gender fluid the other day to use the gents. San buns in the gents are a great idea. My identity always wavers when I see a long queue.

Pratchet · 05/06/2018 20:34

NOT SAN BUNS

I'd just about managed to block that thought from my mind. Thanks for putting it in there again. Sad

Anyway, this is really exciting positive news. Trans activists have been telling us that the men's loo's are unsafe for trans people. That TIMs especially are at risk of violent attack by the thugs who lurk in the men's toilets waiting to beat up people who don't dress according to gender stereotype. Surely this goes to show that they're actually perfectly safe? If obviously female 'non-binary' people can walk in to the men's loo's and be safe, than TIMs can!

senioritabonita · 05/06/2018 20:47

men vandalised the toilets when this was previously done didn't they?

Picassospaintbrush · 05/06/2018 20:48

Nicked herfemeless's wonderful comment and posted it - plagiarism is cool.

Grumpybearblue · 05/06/2018 20:53

Do they put the tampons up their bums or just in their knickers

spontaneousgiventime · 05/06/2018 20:58

Grumpybearblue Up their bum.

I found some discussions about anal tampon use...they like the feeling and talk about tucking in their ovaries (I presume that is some reference to their prostrate gland) and it makes them feel feminine. They use lube and water or ice to make it swell. They also use one of those handy apps to tell them when it's their period. Tampax pearls seem to be a favourite. Their main worry is that the string might break but apparently that doesn't happen.

OfSpartacus · 05/06/2018 21:09

I was at Man Met the other week for a conference and the ladies had been turned into gender neutral whilst the men's was left alone. I did a bit of a double take outside and a helpful student said "that's the one women usually use" I wavered a bit but used the gender neutral.

I then was in the lift with the student and her friend and they were discussing it so I joined in a bit as they were saying they felt it was a bit unfair that the gents was left alone and we agreed that they should both be gender neutral if one was going to be. It was only the toilets on that floor and there were proper ladies elsewhere but it does really annoy me especially when you know the history of women having to fight for public toilets in order to access public life!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 05/06/2018 21:16

I think the best protest when they turn the ladies gender neutral is to use the men's.

Grumpybearblue · 05/06/2018 21:20

I can't get over men putting tampons up their bums! Do they know that's not where periods come from. And used ones Confused that must pose a health risk.
