Bit of a middle of the night love in as I feed my baby. The feminism boards have kept me sane during my maternity leave. But also so much that I thought and felt I have been able to formulate into actual ideas because of the articulate and clever women here. I have always been a feminist but I was getting a bit sidetracked and liberal, trying not to offend but essentially feeling uncomfortable with everything since Germaine Greer was no platformed at Cardiff. I tried to articulate my worry at people who had lived a life of white male privilege wanted to be part of our feminism at a friend's dinner a few years ago and was accused of transphobia. I work with young people and teens and I see them every day struggling with their identity, I see young women who when I was at school would have been gay "identifying" as male. I see boys who don't fit into the "traditional" males roles being told they aren't men. Many of you with similar and differing views to me have really helped me figure out where I stand on this and inspired me to make sure I do some work to counter the gender identity agenda. And you helped me find Magdalen Berns [smile] [biscuit][wine][biscuit][wine][biscuit][wine][biscuit][wine]
