The conversation on the show jumped very abruptly to Brexit.

I noticed that too... Normally the show flows pretty well, but the David Lewis segment just stopped, and then wasn't covered in the summary bit.

Jo Brand used to compere at the Red Rose comedy club in Islington back when I was a lairy heckler - she was a 100% feisty feminist back then, plus she was a psychiatric inpatient nurse for years as well from what I recall, so she's seen it all before - I'd be willing to bet quite a lot on her being GC...

There's usually an extended version of HIGNFY on another night,. Sometimes segments are extended.

I'll be watching Have I Got More News For You this week to see if there's more. Given that Jo is a MNer & her general tone, I'm guessing she could say a lot more about it... G'wan Jo, I'm sure you can peak trans lots of people!

The BBC will be editing that to within an inch of it’s life, I’ll bet. I wouldn’t expect to see much more on the extended version. Would be interested to know what the live audience heard...

A couple of weeks ago this show also said something about millennials spending all their money on smashed avicado and gender reassignment surgery😂.

PencilsInSpace - that Damned episode was the first time that I've ever seen a sympathetic portrayal of a relative of a newly transitioning person having a negative reaction to it on TV. I thought it was brilliantly done - compassion for both transitioner and relative, and a very pointed criticism of the wholesale cheerleading of our institutions regardless of the wellbeing of anyone other than the transitioner.

He presents himself as a" justice warrior" So where was his indignation 5 weeks or so ago where they had a joke at the start of the show about a "faking" DLA claimant It was the one presented by Lee Mack.

I'd imagine that Jo (and others) had more to say, but it was edited out to make it fit in the time slot. I loved Jo's explanation back when #MeToo was jsut starting about how it's all the small stuff that has a gradual effect, not just the big stuff that everyone rightly finds objectionable

@swearyG l had to literally sit on my hands at work to stop myself from turning off radio2 at that segment. So biased a tearful distraught mother interviewed on how awful and evil all those opposed to self ID are. Well that's what l picked up from it!
