Is anyone watching the channel 5 show? It is a stark reminder of what women working the street go through.

It got me thinking- I don't know anyone who has been involved in the sex industry who has enjoyed it or thought 'yes, this is the career for me', it has been a necessity or a way to earn quick money. Granted, I don't know that many people who have worked in the industry but when I have read articles of ex sex workers, they tell a sad tale of abuse, drug addiction, mental health issues.

I see so much now on being anti-sex worker, which I'm not, anyone can use their body as they wish if it is consensual but I am against the exploitation of women and I really can't see how the sex industry empowers women. Can anyone enlighten me?

Not I. Whatever the sex worker's intentions I cannot see what the buyer is doing as anything but exploitation.
