A man punched my car today, hard, as I reversed into a carpark. When challenged, he claimed to be helping me park by warning me that I was nearing the back of the parking space. Which I knew, and did not need any of his help in ascertaining. Frankly, I could also do without the distraction of having my car punched loudly as I complete a simple reversing manoeuvre.
The man hit my car so hard that I sounded like I had hit something with my car. I believe that was the intention. To frighten. Interestingly, he seemed oddly pleased with himself afterwards.
Would a man ever, out of nowhere, punch another man's car, to help with parking? The very idea is laughable.
I have started this thread as I believe that women put up with a lot of routine, everyday NON-sexual harassment in the public sphere, in addition of the well publicised harassment of a sexual nature. I thought it might be worth a conversation.
Does anyone else on this board experience strangers (usually men) intruding to "help" you perform some task that you are perfectly adept at, or to give you a very polite telling off for some non-existent procedural infraction? Instances of real-life concern trolling?
