Turns out they do have a policy on that!

www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/labour-suspend-local-party-chairman-over-emily-thornberry-beheading-tweets-rlwzk3wm8

"In one tweet, posted in January 2016, Mr McKenzie wrote: “Emily Thornberry is too old for Isis. They won’t make a sex slave of her. They’ll behead her and dump her in a mass grave.” In another posted the previous month, which Mr McKenzie said was about a different person, he wrote: “Maybe she’d agree sex slavery to one man only, provided he didn’t sell her on or insist on gang rape.”

Mr McKenzie, who was elected chairman in February, said his tweets had been “taken out of context” and his views “badly misrepresented”."

Sounds like a delightful chap.

Wonder if they'll implement this policy of taking misogyny seriously and suspension more widely?

I can’t think of a context where those tweets would have been appropriate. Why has it taken so long for him to be suspended? Vile, nasty piece of work.

I am guessing that when he shifted from misogyny to racism and religion bashing implications he went too far for Labour.

AsAProfessionalFekko · 22/05/2018 19:21

Yes, of course taken out of context 🙄

Ereshkigal · 22/05/2018 19:40

Wow, how can he even try to defend that?

QuarksandLeptons · 22/05/2018 19:44

Come on Labour! How has it taken two years to suspend him. Women are 51% of the population- how can we be valued so little by a party that purports to be egalitarian
