The photo is upsetting. The seagulls may not be so peckish on this one.

The first paragraph of the piece reads:

On May 3, I was called by a Radio New Zealand journalist to give an interview for Morning Report. The interview concerned my petition challenging a Givealittle campaign that asks supporters for funds to promote breast binding in colonised regions. After completing the interview and preparation, I was informed that this interview “appears to have simply dropped out of the system” at Radio New Zealand. The story was also refused for publication as a digital piece. This is a transcript of my own copy, with the interviewer’s identity protected.

Thats horrifying.
How is it so difficult to tackle violence and poverty, and so easy to raise money for this one agenda?

Great interview by Renee - shame it did not see the light of day. Excellent points raised.

One of the comments below starts “Are you arguing that there are no trans people in the recipient regions?...” Hmm

Interesting that another commenter said her interviews with NYT and a San Francisco outlet about her daughter’s desistence never saw the light of day.

The interviewee says FGM is being carried out by surgeons in Britain. If it is then it's illegal. I stopped reading at that point
