Transphobia or truths?

Hi there!

First, apologise if this has been really over discussed already.

I'm pretty new to the whole self ID and trans issues and pretty shocked to discover I'm probably classed as a "Radical" feminist.

How comes it's seen as transphobia when women talk about women's rights or sex or gender?

Perhaps I'm being naive, but I haven't seen anything i would class as transphobic on MN yet? Just a lot of feminists discussing their concerns for women and girls' rights?

Looking for answers so I can see both points of view but also so I can attempt to understand what is going on here.

Ask pretty much anyone in RL who is not a rad fem if they accept trans people as the gender they feel they are and they will say yes and move on.

Politicians aren't the 'outside world' - seriously, this is your argument?

Almost noone I speak to believes in trans ideology. Most of those that say they do, actually dont but are scared to say so until they know it's safe. Most of the people I've met who do believe are teenagers. Teenagers groomed by creeps online and peer pressure.

You may as well tell me I'm wrong about the Church because Catholics disagree with me. It's not convincing.

You know how to find out if people in general think trans women are really women? Ask them about dating. That'll clue you in pretty quickly. If you think the women here are mean try talking to some straight men.

No they won't. That is why it has suddenly become an issue. The person on the street has just discovered they have been the victim of a con game. The L&G are not best pleased about it either.

I have no idea why men seem to think that once they decide they want to be women everyone should accommodate them. It makes no sense but that is where we are.
More women are saying no every day. More women are saying women's rights are not negotiable and we do not want our daughters driven out of the public sphere for refusing to submit to yet another male dominance display.
Men need to stop trying to displace women and get to work widening the bandwidth of what men will tolerate in men.

My I respectfully suggest that it is transgender identified males who have an irrational fear of their own sex?
That would be considered transphobic, I suppose.
Repeating the fifth and tenth rules of misogyny at us over and over just gives the impression that you are possibly maybe probably a misogynist.

Nah thwre are definitely lesbians who suffer from internalised misogyny. I think all women do to an extent, at least for a while. Radical feminism can help alleviate it thankfully.

We all get the same social conditioning in dominance and submission. I do not know why people think misogyny is an exclusively male world view. It is not.
daimbars, you aren't that special. I know quite a few woman hating lesbians. Anybody else run into Bev Jo's misogyny club on the FB?
