Watched this documentary on our digibox. Highly recommended. Fascinating story about a women whose brilliance in technological innovation is only recently recognised; partly due to when she was born but also because she was a film star and thus totally underestimated.

Hedy Lamarr was an amazing woman whose contributions to technology have largely been ignored.

I had no idea! This is fascinating.

I thought her story was well known, but it appears maybe not. Certainly fascinating.

Yes, sounds like a great documentary, and I shall keep an eye out for it. The Executive Producer was Susan Sarandon (yay).

Plot summary and review here.

I'm 46 and I feel like I've always been aware of her as an inventor as well as an actor, but that's possibly because I like biopics of female stars from that era. She is one of the women featured in "Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls", so my daughter and others of her generation will remember her genius and, hopefully, her hugely important role in technological innovation will become common knowledge.

Anyone interested in the history of brilliant but fairly unknown Women should watch the time-travel drama ‘Timeless’ . It’s my absolute favourite tv show and has amazing Female characters combined with sci fi and history. It doesn’t hurt that Goran Visnicji is in it too 😀

I was coming on to say if you're interested in her, Timeless devoted an episode to her. It was fantastic.
