I'm sure SF will put all the women who have suffered human rights abuses into their place by reminding them of their "CIs-privilege" Angry

Since Amnesty has been a men's rights organisation for some time, why would one explode at the news it employs men's rights activists? It's more of a nothing new to see here and move on to something interesting thing?

Waddlelikeapenguin · 07/05/2018 14:07

Yy lang

EmpressOfSpartacus · 07/05/2018 14:12

I'm not surprised earlier, stopped donating to Amnesty when it became apparent what they thought of women.

After hearing about SPACE International from Julie Bindel I support them instead now, because they support sex trade survivors.

Amnesty is quite a misogynistic organisation, I am not surprised they would hire Shon. Shon fits rights in.

TerfinUSA · 07/05/2018 14:16

Shonky Shon is affiliated with Amnesty so it's quite likely

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 07/05/2018 14:17

Let Shon get on with it. Amnesty are not a women supporting organisation, whatever their fluff says

TerfinUSA · 07/05/2018 14:18

Shonky Shon is part of the 'Amnesty Collective' a hand-picked group of 10, so it would make sense to call on Shonky Shon to emcee or whatever

AngryAttackKittens · 07/05/2018 14:24

I already stopped donating to Amnesty after the "yay prostitution" thing so I can't say this surprises me too much. Women should be fucked and not heard, apparently.

LaSqrrl · 07/05/2018 14:26

Vaggie: Should be called Making Women History.
Best LOLSOB for the day!

Anyway, I call it Elizabethan Theatre. All the women's parts will be played by men.

Amnesty can go eff themselves, they sold out women a long time ago in favour of men's boners.

SuitedandBooted · 07/05/2018 14:33

Whereyouleftit

Grateful to listen and learn as long as none of them point out that women don't have dicks.

AngryAttackKittens · 07/05/2018 14:36

What'll the introductions be like? "This is Mary, who I'm sure has done something very important, but anyway, what about me?"

Do you think someone from Amnesty pointed out that saying"I will be the host for the entire day" was just a LITTLE exaggeration?

Host to a "sort of compere" is a pretty rapid demotion

LaSqrrl · 07/05/2018 14:47

LOL, true.

One cannot be 'the most oppressed type of womanâ„¢' and not throw focus back.

BingBongSong · 07/05/2018 14:48

I also remember spending £££ as a student, faxing various embassies about people who had been sentenced to death. I do remember one reprieve was granted.

Also stopped my membership following the "sex is a human right" communication.

FuckCisNoise · 07/05/2018 14:52

Bless. Yawn. Etc.

LassWiADelicateAir · 07/05/2018 14:56

I might get blackballed for saying this but to be fair to Shon I thought that Huffington Post article in Shon's former name was quite reasonable. The thread was pulled but some of the points, in particular in relation to teenage boys, seemed sensible.

I didn't know that Amnesty only decided in 2007 that lack of access to abortion was a breach of human rights. They do campaign on that and I will continue to sign petitions and support their specific campaigns and cases on that subject but I won't donate.

Shon Faye working with amnesty brings to mind Melania trump wearing dolce and gabbana.

OlennasWimple · 07/05/2018 15:07

I wonder if there are no cunty women willing to host an Amnesty event

Nope, none at all. Obviously.
