Thank you.

tobee · 01/05/2018 11:01

Ooh, that was a bit rushed. But Louise Paine answered very well. Hopefully a few more peak transed from seeing that???

Oh, looks like I missed it, as it seems to be the 11o'clock news on now.

Must have been short!

tobee · 01/05/2018 11:08

Yes less than ten minutes. Probably on iPlayer though. I only heard about 30 seconds before that it was coming on. Also it was only on the bbc news channel today, bbc2's transmission was cut short for the snooker.

You can listen again - it is at the very end of the programme 10.50 onwards.

I don't think it came across very well. They had Joshua Rozenburg who seemed up to speed on the legals, but VD did not seem to get it and it was over the phone which doesn't help. It all gets muddled about in what is a woman/transwoman/transidentifiedmale.

Sorry this is the link - above is a link to this thread Blush

True but Louise Paine made it pretty clear in the time allowed. But then maybe I'm biased. Smile

Victoria seemed to subtly change from cross to more even after the male lawyer agreed with Louise at the end.

Melamin · 01/05/2018 11:42

True but Louise Paine made it pretty clear in the time allowed Totally not dissing her - it was a tough job. It all seemed a bit rushed, the phone method is not the best, and like Trousers said VD seemed a bit cross about it all. And GC women do not get much chance to practice, then it has to be perfection.

Trousersdontmakemeaman · 01/05/2018 11:45

I was pleased the legal guy backed up the challenge.

ShotsFired · 01/05/2018 11:55

Am I missing something? 10.50am on VD programme today was about alcohol pricing.

He is usually on Law in Action on R4 - they did one on sex discrimination laws not working www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b09tds71
This needs to be taken into account before they start scrapping the exemptions by the back door.
It would be good if he covered the legal challenge on LiA at some point.

try this

Melamin · 01/05/2018 11:59

Shots - it moved over to BBC News channel for the snooker at 10am. You need to follow the link above.

Trousersdontmakemeaman · 01/05/2018 11:59

Weirdly the piece before is about child protection in sport. Joined up thinking is clearly not a thing eh?

Melamin · 01/05/2018 12:08

There is a huge lack of joined up thinking and no thinking through of the consequences. The 'debate' is always shown as 'good intentions' and we all know where they lead to...........

ShotsFired · 01/05/2018 12:39

Thanks @Melamin, found it now.

RosenbergW · 01/05/2018 13:53

I can't find it, the end of VD on bbc2 cuts out but I can't select BBC News channel for the following section.

RosenbergW · 01/05/2018 13:53

I mean it just says it's unavailable.

Melamin · 01/05/2018 14:05

It has dropped off the News live feed and the I-player cuts out at 10am so it has gone now Sad

Juells · 01/05/2018 14:41

Small item on Sky News as well

news.sky.com/story/300-women-quit-labour-to-protest-all-women-shortlist-update-11354746

Don't you love women who join Labour to wave their woke credentials? And get a dig at those horrible feminists...

Terfulike · 01/05/2018 14:48

So the BBC has basically deemed it non-news. Can you imagine if 300+ men mass resigned?

Sunkisses · 01/05/2018 16:13

Is there no link for this footage? Would love to watch the interview

tobee · 01/05/2018 16:21

Bah! That's very annoying that it cuts of at 10 am
